Good job, Rolak! To answer your question, George Lucas was inspired by many cultures to create the Force. The Force is biolelectric energy called Qi in China, Ki in Japan, Prana in India, many people have been using it for thousands of years with Qigong, Yoga, Tai-Chi, Meditation. The Force is often called the "Vital Breath", I think that God gave the Force in this moment: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Genesis 2:7) Master Silmerion |

Thanks for answering my question, but that lead to another one: If the Force is mentioned in the Bible, why aren't most Christians Jedi? And are there any other places in the Bible that mentions the Force? |

This is just my opinion, but I don't think most Christians really understand what Master Silmerion just described. George Lucas is a Christian and I think he had an understanding of this when he got the idea for Star Wars. |

I think that many concepts present in the Bible can be understood only if we look at other traditions like Taoism or Buddhism (or other), but many Christians are afraid to learn from other cultures. I know I had a period I was, I only wanted to be in touch with Christianity, probably because my Faith wasn't strong enough, then I started to get interested by other traditions and my Faith in God only deepened. I understood also much more of the Bible. I think George Lucas did the same. Master Silmerion |

Yeah, I guess you have a point. I haven't had any luck with the Force yet, but like I said I don't have a very strong relationship with Jesus right now. But if that's the reason, then why do non-Christians have Force powers? |

Because, to quote a line I heard recently, "Christians don't own Jesus." Jesus came to teach us to live in compassion, love, and right relationship. Unfortunately, a lot of people who call themselves "Christians" aren't following what Jesus taught at all. And many people who don't consider themselves to be Christians actually are following the teachings of Jesus. |

No problem. We are a go-at-your-own-pace order. We know that people have other things to do besides this. Which is as it should be. |

It's been a while now and I still can't get a good relationship with Jesus. It only happened once when I woke up and I felt His presence, but I lost it when I got to school. I know you should pray to get closer to Him, but I always forget when I get distracted by other things. Especially school. |

This happens even for the followers of Jesus who have the best intentions. I remember to have read that Saint Therese of Jesus Child said she often got distracted even while praying. Our mind is made this way but the more you'll pray and meditate, the more focused you will be, even after your prayer. Our world is full of things that may take us away from Jesus, what helps me much is to try to recognize Him in my brothers and sisters, also God has created everything and so He is always here, I like to be thankful to Him for everything, my friends, the warmth of the sun, food, rain, earth, life... Keep praying everyday and you will always feel closer to Jesus. Master Silmerion |

I'm sorry, I don't think being a Jedi is going to work for me. I'm out. |
