Salutations,
My name is TwinDragon, but you may also call me Twin. I was asked to post here with a little information about myself. Well, I suppose that wouldn’t hurt, so here I am. I am not from any other site you may have heard of. I used to belong to naritus.org, but that has been destroyed due to most unfortunate events. It was nothing like your site however, so I am completely new to this idea of “training” as it seems.

I found your site by accident really. I was working on a devotional I was leading and stumbled upon your site by typing in the words Christian Jedi into Google. My devotional didn’t have anything to do with Jedi, but I am easily distracted by the multitude of thoughts drifting around inside my head and “Christian Jedi” seemed like an interesting subject for me. Back then I was able to access your forums without having to create an account and I thought some of your material looked interesting so I bookmarked you in hopes of coming back in the future when I had time to devote to reading through your threads. However, upon return I found that I was blocked from accessing your forums without being a member, so here I am.

Now, about me: In all regards, I am the kind of person who likes to look at things from different points of view. That was how I was trained and thus, that is what I do. I felt that looking at Christianity though a Jedi’s mindset may be both interesting and enlightening. I’ve been a Christian all my life, thus the Christian religion is not something new to me, nor is different Jedi philosophies. But I have never encountered the two combined into one. Thus, that is why I am most interested in what I may be able to learn while being here.

I can explain in further detail almost anything you may be interested in. I’m known to elaborate extensively on a variety of subjects. If you have any further instructions for me, please feel free to let me know. That goes the same for comments, questions, critiques, complaints, and compliments.
Share and Enjoy.

That is all.

Welcome, TwinDragon.

Since I first started this site my beliefs have been tempered by the idea that you have to take the Bible in context and pay attention to the original intention to get the real meaning from it. Since I have started doing this I have found some very interesting things.

It is good to get to know you better.

1. What do you think it means to follow the Jedi Way?

What do I think it means to follow the Jedi way? Well, I must first examine what the Jedi way is before I can tell you what I think it means to follow it. From reading others remarks and answers, this still leaves me with little to no true explanation as to what the Jedi way is to understand. However, some have used the Jedi codes and such in their answers, thus I can only conclude that the Jedi code is the basis of the “Jedi Way” which is why I have chosen to incorporate it into my answer as well. Oh, and you might have noticed by now that I am not someone who restricts himself to responding to anything in less than a few paragraphs. Tis the way I was trained, thus it shall be the way I do things. I do hope you do not tire of reading. Hahaha

The first tenet of the Jedi code says “There is no emotion; there is peace.”

Well, I can tell from multitudes of personal and researched experience that there is in fact emotion and that it does have its purposes. While I am not one who is primarily trained to use pathos, I do enjoy understanding its uses and effects. But what of the peace part at the end? Peace is the state of harmony and freedom from war, public disturbance, or disorder. That is the political definition of peace. But as I was trained, I understand that peace is much more than extraction from military endeavors such as warfare. In its philosophical context, peace is a calmness that goes beyond emotion, past it, in order to act and react from a clear mindset.

Thus, from what I believe this tenet to say is this: Emotion is something that should be confronted and understood in order to deal with them properly and correctly in order to achieve that which transcends emotion, which is peace.

The second tenet of the Jedi code says “There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.”

Ah, now this is something I can understand! I am trained to use logos, and I understand its importance well. Now, It says there is no ignorance, but as we all know, ignorance is as plenty as there is emotion. And like peace with emotion, we must use knowledge to overcome ignorance. I was trained to look at a subject and attempt to understand both sides of it. A bit of philosophical Jediish wisdom I use is this, “If you are to truly understand, you will need the contrast, not adherence to a single idea.” It was wisdom like this that helped me train such effective apprentices. Knowledge is having an understanding or a familiarity with a body of facts or principles. Knowledge is necessary for informed decision-making, and is important when weighing all variables or predicting long-term effects and consequences.

Thus, from what I believe the tenet says is this: That ignorance is something we should overcome by learning of all of our surroundings.

The third tent of the Jedi code says “There is no passion; there is serenity.”

Now, at first glance, I find this tenet to simply be a duplicate of the first, if only a few words were changed. But I think this one is dealing with a higher form of emotion. With emotion, one must control it with logic and reason. I believe the same could be true with passion, only more so. Passion is emotion without reason, which is why it can be so problematic. I believe there is both good passion and bad passion. I know some people are passionate about protecting animals from cruel treatment. Now this can be good and bad. It requires logical and reasonable action to do that. If the person gets to involved in the task and not the goal, then I believe their passion has blinded them from what is the true purpose of their mission. Now on to the next one!

The fourth and last tenet says this, “There is no death, there is the Force.”

Now, from my experience and researched experience…there is in fact death…which is the result of no longer being alive. In the physical form anyway, we will die. As another once said before me, “Everyone dies, it is the final and only lasting justice.” Now, from my perspective and beliefs, I do not believe that death is the end. I believe that there is an eternal soul and the soul will reside somewhere for all eternity when all is said and finished. Now the part about the Force is a part of the Star Wars universe and created to be a mythical energy of some sort. It’s like duct tape, it has a light and dark side and holds the universe together. I think here is where we go on to the next question! Oh what joy! hahaha

2.In your own words define the Force. What is it? How did it originate? How does it work?

Define the force aye? Well, according to Star Wars, which is where the theory of the “Force” came from, the force was discovered by philosophical and religious thinkers on the planet Tython. It is an unseen energy that binds us, penetrates us, and holds the universe together. We’ve been told that those who are able to wield the force do so because they have midcloriants in their blood, and it seems that this bacteria does not only exist within the force user, how ever many you have in your blood seems to determine if the force is exceedingly strong in you or if your lucky you can movie some rocks onto one another. I dunno, but when Obi-Wan exclaimed that “not even master Yoda has one that high,” it seemed to me that power is somehow predetermined by your midcloriant count. Now, Ive explained where it originated form, what is is more or less and how it works. But only from a Star Wars perspective. If we are attempting to combine star wars and Christianity, then I suppose I should explain it from a Christian perspective.

We are told from the Bible that Jesus did many amazing and miracles things. Now, I believe it was just the simple fact that he was the son of God and well, God is all powerful. Whatever he wants, he can do, anything is within his power. I don’t figure his power came from anything like the force as seen in star wars. But these are only my ideas and theories of theology and philosophy. Now, as said on your introduction home page, the Force is merely bioelectric energy created by God, and thus, serves the will of God. I find that statement suitable for an explanation of the “force” outside of the Star Wars mythos.

Now, what is next? I do hope you do not get easily tired of reading. I was not trained to babble off quick blips of a sentence. However, this was more of an amusing thing for me to do in my pastime, and thus does not carry with it the professionalism I’m known for, but instead, more of my personal interest and insight.

If you have questions, comments, concerns, compliments, complaints, critiques, or future instructions for me, simply let me know and I shall do that right away! Haha

That is all.

I like your interpretation of the Jedi Code, you understood well its meaning.

As for the Force, here we consider the Dark Side as counterfeit of the Force, what destroys its balance- and the true aspects of the Force are Living Force and Unifying Force (which comes from the Taoist tradition of Jing-Qi-Shen- this is explained in the Force Classes you may take in the future).

The MidiChlorians come from the idea of real cells called Mitochondrions which allow food to be transformed into energy.

I personally think that the Force serves God and Jesus also came to show us how to use it wisely. Before going back to the Father, he told His Apostles that they will do the things He did, and even more, though His Apostles- and ourselves are the Sons of God only by adoption. However, Jesus's Apostles also made miracles, just like so many Saints in our History.

Jesus is all powerful of course, He can do anything, but the Force is a gift which can allow us to heal, to perceive the world in a deeper way and to strengthen our relationship with God. It is a way and a guide to serve God better.

As for the Force...Jesus told his followers that they would be able to perform the same kinds of miracles that he did. I believe that this power does come from God, but that bioelectric energy (qi, chi, ki, prana, etc) is a part of it.

Also, you are not obligated to do any of these assignments unless you want to. We have many members (Allies) who simply come here to read over the information for their own edification.
