Hello... I've barely started looking around, but anyways I'm introducing myself a little now. I'm a university student from the Czech republic, Christian, somewhat androgynous girl, interested in languages, literature, music... I've always been finding the Jedi ideas inspiring and I liked the idea to incorporate them in our daily life. In the past I have seen some websites that are dedicated to this. But recently I just thought, what if I try to look for Christian Jedis? Since before the sites I saw weren't really interested in other religions and they presented is so that "Jedism" is their religion. But I wanted to find some views that contain both Christianity and Jedi principles, because God and Christ should still be the most important. And I found this page, which contents I am yet going to study more carefully, and there was a link to these forums. It's great to find this, I wasn't even hoping that I'd find such a site! These times are hectic for me [last university year!], but I hope I'll find times to come here and learn something that could inspire me in my life. |

bows :) Greetings Avolarx, Welcome to Christian Order of Jedi Knight aka COJK. :) I am Master Jan-Qui Coran. You have found the right place to learn about Christian principles with the Jedi Way. We use Biblical quotes in reference to Star Wars & the Jedi. I myself am Catholic. When I talk to others I simply say I'm a Catholic Jedi because to me the Jedi path here is helping to enhance my Catholic way of living. University life can be very hectic. You may decide that this is the place for you & we will do our very best to help you in any way possible. You will have a month that you may look around so that we may get to know you better. We do Youngling Lessons, followed by Youngling Trials, followed by becoming a Padawan Learner & Padawan Trials till completion to Knighthood. This all takes a very long time to do because we do not hurry anyone along. We strongly suggest that you take your time to look around & ask any questions that you may think of. You may wish to introduce yourself a bit more fully in the introduction area. This is where you will be posting your work when the time comes for you to do your lessons. You type very good English. :) Again welcome to COJK May the force be with you aka MTFBWY Master Jan-Qui Coran |

Thank you :) I somehow noticed the Introductions section only after already posting this here XD Hmm so it's not just a forum here but also a kind of organisation with a given order of lessons etc.? Not sure if that's what I'm looking for [prolly too individualistic nature of mine!], though I have read a few topics here and they are inspiring. Since even for browsing the forums you have to be registered, I didn't know what exactly to expect :) The texts from that site that had linked me to here are useful too; I've already read them but now I'll need to gradually bring the theory into practice - a lifelong process probably but that's what's nice and challenging about it! Lately I was feeling apathetic and unmotivated about almost everything, even my spiritual life, and suddenly when I found out about the principles of Jedi together with Christianity it suddenly gave me new energy and motivation, for life in general and also for trying to reconnect with God again [I never stopped believing but lately my spiritual life was somehow empty, lacking being in touch with God]. Lack of time is still my issue though; not only because of being busy with the uni but it's also that I know that it would be better for me to limit my time at the comp and instead focus on more constructive things like studying, physical training [needs a lot of improvement in my case, and the backslide very much started after I picked the habit of spending hours at the comp daily!] , praying etc. So pardon me if there's little contribution from me because of this! I think that even so, I'll still at least come to read some topics here for some inspiration and encouragement. God bless you and May the force be with you. |

Master Jan-Qui is right. I know many Jedi (even Masters) who are mostly active offline, it is also very important, so feel free to organize your training as you wish. We are here if you need! Master Silmerion |

Hello again :) I want to say that I've found many encouraging things here, particularly on the topic of Christianity an Christian life. I've been looking for something deeper and a direction for my life. But I realized that what I need isn't to practice for being a Jedi, but for being a better Christian and that's what I must focus on [because like I wrote, it wasn't so good with my spiritual life lately.] In any case I'm not going to do the trainings as described here because I'm in a lot of time pressure :( But still I'm glad to know that so awesome people like you exist :) |

:) Greetings Avolarx, I'm glad that you have found us. I sense you are under much time pressure & actually that happens to most of us because of our real lives. I'm a Catholic & the Jedi path have helped me learn to meditate, which I couldn't do at all & actually even as a Master still learning about. I found that the Jedi path has helped me to focus being a better Catholic, I hope. Of course I'm still learning, as we all are. You are always welcome to visit :) . You said you are not going to do the training here because of time constraints---I'm sure that is meant for your time in what you do in your actual life. COJK does not put any time constraints on any student at any time. Each student does their training at their own rate, even if it takes months or longer---I was that kind of student----to do an assignment. When you feel you wish to move forward you will be welcome to come back & let us know. We'll be here. Our doors are always open. We wish you well in whatever you move forward with. We will keep you in our Prayers & hope that God will enlighten your way. Everyone has their spiritual ups & downs. It is how we handle the downs that helps us get through things. I know myself I always place my faith in God 1st because He knows his plan for me. I just have to listen to what He says or look for the signs He sends me. One has to be very quiet within oneself to be able to hear God. I do know that is something that can be very hard to do for some people. It can be done. :) I will make a small suggestion to you---do you know how to meditate? If you do then just do it for even 1-5 minutes & it will help you. If you do not know how to meditate please feel free to ask & I will guide you through a very simple meditation technique to help you. May the Lord of the Force be with you Master Jan-Qui Coran |

I'm not sure what is a good way to meditate :/ Could you recommend something? My problem is also that I can't calm down my mind and it always wanders to other thoughts [like about what I was doing that day or what I'm going to do etc.] |

It is normal that our mind wanders, just observe it and each time, turn back to your meditation object. Here is a good Meditation technique: http://z15.invisionfree.com/christianorder...p?showtopic=177 Master Silmerion |

Hi again :) Could you please change my username to Luci? This one is too long and I decided I'd like to use and be called my real name [well one of the forms of it]. I still don't have many opportunities for the net and a difficult exam awaits me... But I will try to stay in touch at least a little. |
