Greeting's too all,
My name is Jam-Hul Jinn and i am 39 years old and have been retired from the military now for about 6 months. I was always a fan of Star Wars, and especially of the Jedi. There was just something about them that really appealed to me and drew me to them. For years I considered myself as a somewhat quasi soldier/Jedi, but it seemed I was alone in that quest at the time. I kind of put that to the side for about 8 to 10 years until EP 1 came out and rekindled the desire in me. After that I started surfing the net and realized there were others out there who were walking the same path. I started getting more serious about it and really devoted myself to learning as much as possible, and then I realized that my military training and discipline were right in line with being a Jedi. I then started devoting myself to others instead of only myself and started volunteering to go out on projects with the chaplain and the church service group whenever we were overseas in third world countries. Along the way the Lord drew me to Him and I gave my life to Him and His will in 2001. I felt like I was still on the fringe side of the Jedi since it seemed like every group I came across either put the Force in the place of God, or that the Force was some eastern religion mystical type of thing. Anyways it was starting to seem like it was conflicting with my faith in Christ, but I knew deep down that they were wrong and it didn't. So I have been pretty much going it alone in my walk as a Christian Jedi, learning what I could from other group sites, taking what complimented my faith, and leaving the rest behind. Anyways I came across Christian Order of the Jedi, and I hope to have finally found a HOME.

May The Force Be With You.

Master Silmerion and Michael,
Thank you so much for the welcome. I hope to gain much knowledge and wisdom in the ways of the Force and the Lord who is over it. I also would like to be share with others the knowledge I have gained with my years of not only walking the Jedi path, but also in my walk with The Lord. I am ready to get started on my training also. An idle mind is the enemy's workshop. Where would you suggest for me to start Master.

Greetings JAM-HUL JINN,
Welcome to COJK. I am Master Jan-Qui Coran.
Other then the lack of military experience I feel the same way about COJK. Becoming a Jedi has helped strengthen my faith in God. I am a Cathlic & many times I simply call myself a Catholic Jedi. God comes 1st. The Jedi way is a good way to learn how to meditate, calm down, be positive & get control of oneself.

I would like to thank you for serving in the military, you are much appreciated for your service.

We will help in any way we can.

During your 1st month here please work on the Youngling Assignments & feel free to look around & post where you wish.

I also see that you seem to like Master Qui-Gon Jinn. :)

May the Lord of the Force be with you

ASSIGNMENT 1

1. What do you think it means to follow the Jedi Way?

To me following the Jedi way is a way of life. Too often I have come across those that think the Jedi way is all about fun, or just carrying the title of Jedi. Most often they like the feel of being a part of something, or the “feeling” they get when they do a “good deed”. “Feeling’s” don’t last. As Master Qui-Gon said “Training to become a Jedi is not an easy challenge, and even if you succeed, it's a hard life." Usually once that reality set’s in they will fall off the path. Following the Jedi way takes complete dedication just as being a faithful Christian does. This is dedication to the Code, tenets, Master’s, Counsel, All Jedi, and humanity in general. This is why there are so few of us dedicated Jedi in the world. That’s why I think those of us who not only walk this path, but also walk this path with our faith will endure to the end to see a real and effective Jedi Order established, for both way’s are narrow. Matt 7:14 “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” I believe COJK is a ground breaking organization in this sense, for we don’t just believe in and follow the will of the Force, but we have the Lord of the Force also. That give us the faith to follow the Jedi Way.

2. In your own words define the Force. What is it? How did it originate? How does it work?

The Force is a living energy matter. It is in every thing. It is what binds us all together and gives us life. I believe that when God spoke “ Let there be…” and created the earth and everything in it, that it was the Force of the Lord that did it. When God created man and breathed into him that it was the Force that he gave us to have life. That is why everyone who God created, whether he is the Lords, or not. If they chose to follow the Jedi path can they can wield and use its power in serving other’s. Ive heard other believers say the Force is the Holy Spirit, but if that was the case an unbeliever would know nothing of it. In saying that though I believe that those of us who know that the Force comes from God are more Force sensitive. Really though I don’t believe there is any human language that would do justice in truly defining it. With that being said, the Force originated with God. God created all living thing’s. You have to study the Force through prayer and meditation to master it. I believe that you can only truely master the Force once you can feel and know the Will of the Force and let go and realize that we don’t contrl the Force, but the Force controls us.

:)
Just remember here at COJK we are not a religous group. We are Jedi who do the Jedi Path in a Christian Way.

Master Silmerion & Master Jan-Qui,
Thank you so much. Sorry if I came across that way, no disrespect intended. I completely understand and agree with you that we are Jedi following the path in a Christian way and we are not a religious group. These were just my thoughts on this matter and I will be more mindful in any future posts and discussions.

ASSIGNMENT 2
I have been working on the horse stance this last week and am about to 5 minutes. I have taken martial arts off and on over the years so this is very familiar to me, but I am a little rusty though. I know as I am getting older now that I need to work out more than I have been and I need to get back into some martial arts training. I took Tae Kwon Do back in high school and attained my Green Belt before I went into the military. While I was stationed in Japan for three years I took Aikido and was a 7th Kyu (orange belt). Since then though I have trained here and there but nothing consistently. I was looking at a place where I live called Tracy Karate. They teach Kenpo and are very affordable. I would like to get back to Aikido, but there isn’t anything close enough to me.

Sounds very good.
I also have nothing near me that I can go to for martial arts---I used to do Karate several years back---just the basics till my shoulders gave out. Now I have to be careful because I can't allow my arms to be hit.

ASSIGNMENT 3
This assignment for me was fairly easy. I spend at least 30-45 minutes in prayer and meditation every morning and evening. Even though some of us may find it easy to spend more personal time with God, I remember when it wasn’t so for me. For me this took a lot of practice and patience to get up to this amount of time. the concentration it takes to stay focused on God for any amount of time is great. It is so easy to catch your mind wandering on to the stresses and worries of life. Still even now I got much from the article on the home page about prayer/meditation. It is good to stay mindful of its importance, so as to not finding yourself only doing it out of ritual

Indeed, Mindfulness is a daily training, as our mind tends to wander a lot, but the more we train, the more mindful we become.
You are doing a great job!

Being mindful that is one that for needs constant practice. Have mind will travel at the least unexpected times.
Being mindful is ongoing. Just remember even Jedi have mindful days & days when the mind wants to be anywhere but where we want it to be.
