ASSIGNMENT 4

Service for me has been a way of life over the last 20 years, even more so over the last 10 years. For one I served my country for 20 years ending this last October and since then I have been working at the Dept of Veterans Affairs helping fellow veterans. Ten years ago I also gave my life to Christ and started walking the Jedi path. This has inspired me to do more for others outside of what my job had me doing. I started volunteering to go out on humanitarian missions overseas on my own time repairing church’s, neighborhoods, and parks. Most recently I have been putting together a group of guys from my church to go out in the community to do the same. Doing these things for others makes me feel good, but also makes me even more mindful and appreciative of the blessings that God has bestowed upon me just to be able to go out and serve others who are less fortunate and are unable to do for themselves.

Your experience is really awesome. I think you are an example for all the Jedi.

Master Silmerion,
Thank you. I figure that as I walk the Jedi path, actually the Christian Jedi path that there is no way that you can’t help but to be a light and an example for others. I know all of us Jedi have different experiences, gifts and abilities to offer to one another and I hope to learn just as much from all Jedi here at COJK as they can from me.

ASSIGNMENT 5
These exercises are great! I have been doing this all week and I feel more mindful and in tuned to the Force than I have in a long time. I think what happens is that routines become, well “routine.” This article and the exercises have allowed me to refocus on the Force and I can say that this week has been most excellent. Sure problems and issues in life still come up, but I have had a peace that I haven’t had in a while, and can really sense more the will of the Force and the Lord in the decisions I make and the attitude and calmness I have in those decisions.

ASSIGNMENT 6

The importance of good manners to me is that it shows respect for others, and also that you have respect for yourself. The reason I say that is if you don’t respect yourself, you will not be able to respect others. It starts with yourself. Just as those who don’t love themselves are incapable of loving others. Of course this takes you being constantly mindful and also alot of practice in order for good manners to become habitual. Now as a Christian Jedi it is very important because for some we might be the only witness for Christ that they ever come across and we don’t want to turn them away by a bad impression due to a lack of good manners. That also go’s for when we are representing ourselves as Jedi. It is hard for people to take you serious when you tell them you are a Jedi unless you show them by your actions that it isn’t just a fictional character or an RPG thing. Everything in the article covered the basis for leaving a good first impression on those we come in contact with. I will leave this with a quote from Master Odan-Urr.
"When a Jedi behaves badly in public, an observer might think, 'If this Jedi is a representative of the whole Order, then plainly no Jedi is worth respect.' On meeting a second Jedi, who behaves better than the first, that same person might think, 'Does this say that half the Jedi are good, and half bad?' On meeting a third Jedi, who behaves as well as the second, the person thinks, 'Was the first Jedi an exception, then?' In this way, only by the good behavior of several Jedi can the public be certain that the poor behavior of one Jedi was unusual. Thus, it takes many Jedi to undo the mistakes of one."

:) Very well done.

Sometimes building up a new Jedi student with proper manners is harder then training them about the force or martial arts. So many have no idea what good manners are.

One thing all Jedi are ---- Ambassadors/Representatives of who & what they are. They have to show the highest standards of behavior, conduct & body language to everyone they meet. It would be so nice if all people everywhere set their standards as high. We'd have a much nicer world.

One other thing also is that good manners, etc is an everyday, every minute on going challenge, even for the best of us in todays world.

ASSIGNMENT 7

This one was really just a refresher of past learnings. It did remind me though to be mindful of the things that may seem small or not important but really are. This is something that all Christians should know and for those of us that did at one time should come back to now and again. I have seen a pastor or two tell people to turn to the book of Hezekiah just to see if they are paying attention and you would be surprised when you look around at how many are trying to find it. I still seem to get stuck in the order of the minor prophets a little and will continue to work on it.

Indeed, we never read and memorize enough the Bible, it seems like a Neverending book, we always learn from it, no matter how many times we heard the Scriptures or the Names.

ASSIGNMENT 8

Truly wonderful these Scriptures are. I love the quote From Jedi Apprentice also. That is so true of Gods Word. It reminds me of John 14:26 this is the New American Standard Bible (NASB) "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” I will be very mindful to hide these words in my heart.

You may be also interested in reading Christian Wisdom of the Jedi Masters.

It is using biblical passages compared to quotes heard in Star Wars & comparing them. They may have the book at a library. I'm not sure it's in paperback.

Jedi follow the Christian way a lot closer then many may think.
If the world acted more like Christians it would be great, if not they should act like Jedi then the world would be a whole lot more peaceful.

ASSIGNMENT 9

So true you are about that age we all reach in our lives where everything seems upside down and our flesh seems in control at all times. But even us older, and supposedly “wiser” Jedi can always learn, relearn, and refresh ourselves in the word of God. I always find more knowledge and wisdom when I go back to things once learned, or what I perceived as already learned.

Indeed, it is good to relearn things when time has passed, we perceive them in a different way, with the light of experience and learn more.

You are doing a great job!
