Greetings to all,
my name is Erich and I am new to this site.

I happened upon this site and am not only intrigued by the idea, but desire to train.

I have read the first Youngling assignment, and will post in this thread as the tasks are completed.

I will post more about myself at a later date, but please know that I look forward to learning from the community hear.

May the peace of God be with you,

Erich

Greetings fireproof78,
Welcome to COJK. I am Master Jan-Qui Coran. You have an interesting ID name, which do wish to be called by your id name or Erich?

May I please ask you how old you are?
Are you in school or working---it helps us to get to know others better.
About where do you live? We have many different time zones.

May the Force be with you aka MTFBWY

Thank you for the welcome.

Erich is fine to call me by, as fireproof may seem like an odd handle for some at first.

I am 26 years old, currently working full time in the beautiful state of Idaho, though the northern part so I am in the Pacific Time Zone.

The first Youngling assignment"

1. What do you think it means to follow the Jedi Way?
I believe to follow the Jedi way is to be at peace with God and others, and to promote peace and justice in my own community.

2. In your own words define the Force. What is it? How did it originate? How does it work?

I am not completely 100% clear on my view of the Force. I understand that it is an energy field, and that human beings can tap in such fields, even without realizing. If the Force exists, it originates by God’s own creative work, however, how it works is something I am still unclear about.

Good work Erich!
You'll have a clearer idea of the Force when you'll practice with it.

Idaho? I was there once a very long long time ago--yes it is very beautiful. :)

The Force:
In the very beginning of training I thought it was just a fantasy-----I soon learned it was very very real.
Tthe force is so mysterious & works a it different with each Jedi, though we all feel it basically the same. It is, at least to my way of thinking, very relaxing yet incrediblly awesome. Time, practice, patience, learning to let go completely, & relax are some of the hardest skills a Jedi has to learn. Especially when stressed out with all that is going on in our world.
You will learn all this in time.

Thanks for the welcome. I have visited Boise, and Nampa. It is very lovely area.

I am still trying to figure out the Force, because much of the Christian teaching and study I have done runs concurrent with the ideas of Tai Chi and chakras.

I would appreciate an explanation from a Christian point of view of how the Force works, especially in light of the verse that states that Jesus holds the universe and that He is what Christians live and move and have our being in.

Thanks!

Well, I believe that the Force is qi and that qi is the basis of life. Jesus was able to heal using qi and to do other amazing things as well like controlling the elements. He told his followers that they would be able to do the same things he did and more.

The thing that makes it different from how much of the world sees it is that it is not based on acquiring power, but letting go of power and acquiring humility. This is why it so difficult for most people.
