AKA watchcap, beanie, wooly bobble-hat. Like the hat Mike Nesmith wore on pretty much every episode of the first season of The Monkees. I always thought that was a pretty iconic touque. |

I belong to one of those families that does not speak to or see its members as often as we should, but if someone needed anyone to fall on a sword for her, there would be a queue waiting to commit the deed. -Min Jin Lee | |

I agree with you about Mike Nesmith's hat. (And yes, possibly the greatest hat ever. ) I was somewhat saddened when he decided he wanted to be a serious musician and stopped wearing it. Silly hats and children. I think it brings out a touch of the sadist in everyone. My 15 year old nephew went through a phase where he insisted on wearing a hat and sunglasses whenever he went outside. Didn't matter whose. Unfortunately, he is really unembarrassed by any of the photos of himself in Nana's hat and sunglasses. |

I can't say I've heard the word touque. (I'm just slightly worried about people who take photos of their infants on the potty. I know there is some incriminating evidence of myself in such a compromising position that I am deeply ashamed of.) So please Regullus restore my faith in parents by telling me you don't have any of your daughter like that. |
