No! The wet weather driving them in?
Here the dry weather is bringing them out. Or it may be the sudden return of food sources. I sprayed so much insecticide at school today, I was concerned about toxicity levels.

I wouldn't mind but to get to the computer mouse, they have to climb over me! As I've got this damn nerve disease and have no feeling in my hands, it takes a while till I realise I'm covered in ants.

1. you are the man who congratulated discharger on his fab sense of humour. Your opinion has less currency than a copper penny.

You'd think you'd have learned by now that what value you give my opinion really doesn't matter to me at all.

Also, I was under the impression discharger had written what he had posted, which was quite funny to me.

Also^2, what horrible insult did I say to which woman at PPG?

3. your reply was so completely without entertainment value Regullus wept. And you weren't even sorry. I think people who don't show respect for Regullus are the forum equivalent of an earwig.

I think you're an idiot, but I don't make threads about that fact.

You want me to recap the details? Can't remember which woman I'm referring to?

I don't care about your opinion of me either. It was pretty obvious from your second post at PPG. Not the issue.
You say you dispense with falsities, but you dispense with essentials.
You nest-quoted my point, but didn't address it.

You have the right to state your opinion, but no right to offend others.
If you are going to post, post something that will promote discussion.

Promoting discussion has never been a requisite at any forum I have posted.

As for being offensive, you behave offensively all the time. That you are not vulgar does not mean you are not offensive.

This thread sucks.

Yay for BR for making me laugh! It was actually worth reading to this point.

BR: is it just my prejudice, or are you one of the funniest people in cyberspace?

lara: I have tried really hard to bite my tongue and ignore Joe, because I didn't want to bore anyone or force them to view unpleasant confrontation. But unfortunately, it's just too terribly frustrating for me. If I have to read one more unimaginative and plodding attempt at a jibe or lack of concern for the rights of others and remain silent, well, I can't. Joe is able to maintain the forms of courtesy with you and be likeable and intelligent, and I can see why you feel some impatience with me.
The best compromise I can offer is a seperate thread, which you can avoid.

I love CT: I love coming here and chatting and finding out stuff I never knew. I try really hard to show respect for others, to discuss POV without personal abuse, and if I have something to say I try to be interesting and entertaining. It has greatly widened my knowledge of the world, and I have learned new personal skills, and enjoyed a thousand laughs. I would like to continue doing this.
I object to Joe's lack of concern for the feelings and rights of others.
I object to his belief that he is entitled to say whatever he wants, however he wants. I object to the complete lack of imagination he displays. I would really like this stupidity and hostility to cease.
I have asked him politely, I have ignored him, and the results have been singularly unsatisfying. So.

Joe: discussion is the point of this forum. It always has been.

I have no problems with you, Eral.

I've dealt with some supreme jerks in my real life - one as a boss - and I've actually managed to forgive all but one, and he is a distant memory, so I really can't get too het up about people on forums.

I'm glad, lara.

BR: that you deign to grace us with your presence is a tick of approval, I know.

Yes, we all have aspects of our characters that are there. And we all shrug off RL conflicts, mainly because when we go home, the person with whom we have the grief is not there.
What would you do if they were?

Eral, you seem to have buckets of common sense, far more than I, which is why I'm slightly perplexed as to why you let Joe get to you to this degree.

(I really don't have much more worthwhile to say on this matter, due to the aforementioned shortage of common sense)

I think it's a case of snapping under the constant drip.
Also, recent events in RL are using up all my patience and emotional stamina, and I don't have any to spare for Joe.

This will be the third year of waiting for him to grow up and give it over. Three years of "I don't like you so I'm going to be annoying." Do you know how many times I've seen comments with all the imagination and flair of a caravan site? The sharp incision of a pillow?
The pointless hostility of a nine year old? It's just too old and boring.
We should be friends by now: we know each other well.
If this was Joe's site, I wouldn't come here and pick a fight with him in every single thread.

I don't pick a fight with you in every single thread. I don't pick fights with you at all.

And pardon me, but I don't find "this thread sucks" to be below some other topics "discussed" here.

PS: Love you

Oh, the one I still haven't forgiven was a stalker, and the ONLY place he wasn't was at home, and even then, it took months before he stopped calling to talk to my roommates, just to keep tabs on me... I cut off all contact and asked my friends to never ever EVER talk to him about me. One wanted to maintain his friendship with my stalker and I said fine, just don't let him bring me into the conversation. Change the subject, talk in vagaries. Guess how much longer the friendship lasted?

He even dropped by MY PARENTS' HOUSE to "visit" because he couldn't get info about me from anyone else and he knew I wouldn't have told them what he was doing to me.

There was a story here not long ago, about a woman who experienced much the same thing. He visited her parent's house so often, they told him to stop. She had to take out court orders against him: and he was eventually jailed for two years. Unfortunately for her, and sadly for him, her stalker has Asperger's Syndrome, and his obsession with her is part of his compulsive behaviours. She was a professional athlete (skiing) and gave it up because of him. She was planning to move to America: but still had concerns he would follow her.

A friend of mine is an actor, and she was stalked. The woman who was obsessed with her would go through her rubbish bin.
