Last week I did something that I knew was a complete waste of time.
I wrote to the three local members of the state government who represent my area. Two actually responded, one saying she had passed it on to the minister responsible. :sarcasticeyeroll:

I am trying to think of other pointless activities.
Trying to get my dad to see another point of view.
Telling children to tuck their shirts in.
Planting tomatoes and basil.
Tidying up while the three year old is still awake.
Voting, when all the candidates have the same platform.

What else?

Planting tomatoes has never been pointless for me, but I have special tomato mojo. And bone meal.

Trying to out-stubborn a ferret: pointless.
Waiting for a particular mod to be released before starting a new game of BG2: pointless.
Most "why me?" trains of thought: pointless.
I belong to one of those families that does not speak to or see its members as often as we should,
but if someone needed anyone to fall on a sword for her, there would be a queue waiting to commit the deed.

Likewise growing tomatoes has never been pointless. Even if this year I end up with stacks and stacks of green tomatoes my mum makes green tomato chutney out of them anyway.

Cleaning out my car and then lending it to my sister. With two kids it always comes back with crumbs and stuff in the back seat.
