I'd like to add that at this point I have taken my Spider Jerusalem action figure and tied his wrist to my Cassidy (from Preacher) action figure just so I can work out which positions are feasible with them and which aren't.

Read that and weep, internet. Weep!

For that, I will post a dancing Gir :dg1:

Two dancing Girs, even.

If that's not happy, I don't know what is.

Thank you, all.

Since it's "Bonfire Night", since no-one can apparently remember that it's actually "Guy Fawke's Night" any more, or why they even light bonfires and set off fireworks... :coot:

(So much for the rhyme,

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, Treason and Plot,
I see no reason, why the Treason,
Should ever be forgot. )

Some fireworks from London

The London Eye there is pretty cool.

I know that one as:
Please to remember the Fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.

(But I do know it. And I'm not even English.)

Now, I'm 100% positive the first line is

Remember, remember the 5th of November,

not something you're likely to forget with my birthday, and that was the one I was taught and I see repeated on media here,

and that source of all factually correct information, Wiki, says,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes_Night

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t'was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England's overthrow;
By God's providence he was catch'd
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

but it wouldn't surprise me in the least a verse that old has different variations.
"Well, ‘course dis one’s betta! It’s lotz ‘eavier, and gots dem spikey bitz on de ends. "

Googling revealed sources for both versions, along with other minor variations. I'm only familar with the first stanza, from nursery rhyme books.

Penny for the Guy?

(Isn't it funny that you should come to celebrate a failure to blow something up by blowing things up?)

hello :)
Oops, I missed the festivities... I wonder if anyone would notice if I sneak in some congratulations a little late? Nah, it's not like they're particularly observant after the party, so maybe I could get away with it if I was as crafty as is my wont? Hmmm, but how to go about it? I think this requires a double dose of deviousness, so here goes...

Hey, congrats Krazy, hope you had a great birthday!

Damn I suck...

We can't have fireworks anymore. They're banned. We haven't had a Bonfire Night since I was a little girl. I am proud to say I always knew it was Guy Fawkes Night. I also understood that it was a real shame the plot didn't work.
I was in my teens before I realised that this was not a universally endorsed view.
