We may need a further poll to choose two out of the six names.
The judges' decision must be final. :linux:

Tineke shortened to Niki. Or Tiny.

If I were naming her, she'd probably just stay Miss Orange. And then I'd call her Dawg. Or something.

Used to be alright; what happened?
I'm sorry but I'd never be quite comfortable calling my dog(s) any of those names.

We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." Alfred, Lord Tennyson - Ulysses

From here, yeah, I guess I agree with Mr. FPS and like Peri best.

I knew a dog whose family named her Chuck because that's what she did in the car when they were bringing her home.
I belong to one of those families that does not speak to or see its members as often as we should,
but if someone needed anyone to fall on a sword for her, there would be a queue waiting to commit the deed.

lara and Burgundy, this is not about what you would call your dog, (Burgundy, of course you wouldn't. You're a bloke. And not Dutch.) it's about what Regullus possibly could. It's been over a month and the pooch remains nameless. Exert your mental faculties.

That's three votes for Peri. Progress.

Peri, eh?

Edit:

I live on Perry Pasture Road. We used to live on Upper Valley Road (:4jon:) but the powars that be decided when they were updating the 911 service to change the name to Perry Pasture. Had I known they were going to rename the road, I might have had second thoughts on the home purchase.

Anya is the daughter of a man a friend of mine dated for a while. She was/is a poisonous ADHD child who was excpetionally bitchy to my friend.

I'd like to add that at this point I have taken my Spider Jerusalem action figure and tied his wrist to my Cassidy (from Preacher) action figure just so I can work out which positions are feasible with them and which aren't.

Read that and weep, internet. Weep!

My mental faculties don't do exertion for pet names. I chose generic brand: Kat, or Dawg, or something. So I think it's just fine that Miss Orange is still Miss Orange.

The cat my roommate got when I had Kat was named Rodent. She looked remarkably like a large rat.

I do like to name creatively, but I have come to favour pet names that no sane person would ever consider for a child. Nothing jokey though. It does have to be something I can live with for the duration of the animal's life.

And yes, Upstart and Distortion suit the respective cats just fine. As a rescue dog, Lila came with hers and we thought she'd had enough disruption in her life that she didn't need to adjust to being called something else.

When I was 4, I named our new puppy Jane because she was a girl and I thought that was a perfectly good name for a girl.

My nephew was in kindergarten when his dog joined the family, and he named her Stephanie after one of his friends. He is 16 now, and feels no discomfort about this. :4jon:

I would like to name my next cat Parnell, after the last king of Ireland. I'm not sure that Mr.FPS will co-operate. :troll:

Yes, I'd thought that myself. I'm just glad she's not Miss Pink :D

If Reservoir Dogs can be considered to have any moral whatsoever, it's that it's ok to be Mr. Pink.

lara, you're a rebel and a hold-out.

Miss Orange is a great name, and can be shortened to Missy, which is cute but dignified. Sadly, she is being referred to as Little One, No Name and Puppy. Clearly a crisis situation.

Come on, name some names. B)

I like the name Saskia, if that's not going to be awkward for Reg.

Another name I think is very nice is Maaike, but maybe I'm biased because that's how my sister is called... Still, I think it's a good name. Though if you pronounce it overly English it might look like Mika :/

Miss Orange is a great name, and can be shortened to Missy, which is cute but dignified.

What on earth is dignified about Missy? It's what I was called when I was in trouble as a child. NOT dignified. And I've always refused to answer to "Miss S". (Or Mrs. S or Ms S, for that matter. I'm Lara.)

And just to be rebellious, I'll say that I also like Saskia. And Eral, I'm not a rebel. I'm just to lazy to read that many names and then pick one. ;D

Saskia sounds like a white husky, though, not a smaller dog. A sled dog or somesuch. And it sounds a bit like Katya, too. Oh, Nibs, you might be interested to know that some spell that Katja.

I really like Saskia, and Saski, which you would surely call her, sounds cute. And I voted/posted before reading these responses, for what it's worth.

I was going to say you need to pick something you'll consistently call her so she'll learn it, but all my dogs end up being called absolutely ridiculous things like "woofer" and "smoofins" and "izzadogger" no matter what they're named.

One of my parent's cats is called Saskia. Shortened to Sassy/Sass.

As for what the dog gets named, it's Reg's decision isn't it? But I still maintain Miss Orange is a good name.
