Yay, I'm glad you had a fun time Inky, even though you didn't get your answer yet. You looked smashing by the way, would you like me to post the picture? |

I vote for a picture! I'm sure you looked fabulous! I think it sounds as if it went very well and no, I don't think this is high school at all.

Crushes aren't high school. They can be fun for grownups too. Glad you had fun, and aren't going to obsess. If it happens, it happens. |

I completely enjoyed the frock discussion, and the Great Chacos debate, and feel fully satisfied that Inky had a good time at the party and looked and felt fantastic. Disco themed party, can't go wrong. However, I am sad to say I am deeply disappointed that there was no asking him out to dinner. Here we were worried about lap plunking! Inky behaved herself with absolute decorum and commonsense. :( There was beer pouring , though. :) I don't care who poured, it's the pouring that matters. But you had the pleather pants and gold eye shadow happening! Did you get cold feet? Too much sensible advice had a deleterious effect on you? Is it possible he does not perceive your entire fabulosity? :o If this is the case, well, it's obvious he is not the man we thought he was, and we can forget him. We'll pity his taste, though. But if he does... ask him out climbing as soon as your ankle is better. Then, go out to dinner in the blue wrap, and red ballet flats.

Well, it was a pretty wild party. There was lots of dirty dancing, and his shirt came off. Also, there were about forty people there, many flirty college girls also rocking their goods hard. There was not a lot of talking. The whole thing was a little odd. He didn't make a lot of eye contact when I arrived, and reverted to high-fives instead of a hug (he hugged other arrivals). He did stroke a finger along the skin of my back as he walked past at one point, ostensibly to keep his balance, but there was room to get by. I dragged him out to my car relatively early in the evening to give him the rope bag/tarp I got him, and it turned out he'd bought one earlier that day (after I had been giving him grief about not having one the day before), but I got profuse thanks and many hugs. We only danced together once or twice, pretty nastily, but that's how the party was and we were both dancing more with everyone else. No one girl seemed to have a monopoly on his attention, least of all me. As I was leaving around 1AM, I peeled him away from a woman he was dancing with to let him know I was taking off. He hugged me, thanked me again for the gift and "You're concerned for my safety!" I told him he should know by now that I'm concerned for his safety, and to return the bag for something fun, then I kissed him on the cheek. He pulled back, looked at me, hugged me again, and I left, came home, sent Nibby a picture as requested, sponged off the beer, and went to bed. |

It's clear there was no opportunity for dinner asking. I view the hugging favourably. Dancing together nastily? English translation, please? How's your ankle? When do you think you are up for a climb next? DISCLAIMER: If at any time you feel like telling Eral to STUF, go right ahead. |

![]() Dancing dirty. It was awesome. Ankle's still a little pissy, it'll be a week or few yet before I'm climbing. |
