Okay, so currently we don't have our own online-reader, therefore we will upload our releases on bato.to, and only in cases where bato.to has disallowed upload on another reader of our choice which we'll mention at the time.

We do not allow individuals to first-time upload our releases anywhere, including bato.to. We will do so ourselves. Should you notice an error there, please contact us.

We will post our releases as downloadable compressed files on this forum as well. Those are for your private reading only.
You are free to re-direct people to our release by referencing them to bato.to or our forum. You may put a forwarding link on other mass-aggregator sites but we do not allow you to post the releases or download-links themselves, capiche?

Why we (have to) do this:

Our policy might seem harsh to you at first glance but when you investigate a bit, you will understand where we're coming from.
We publish our releases for free and do not want others making money of our hard work. We take the less bad alternative, which is bato.to. Why? Because they work on a minimum of ad-revenues (and servers like these aren't exactly cheap, so it's really nice how little advertisments they put) and they respect the wishes of scanlators. More than that most other alternatives we know of are working with shady methods, therefore we do not wish to support them. People are always whining why popular reading sites (like one that published raws with bubble-wise translation overlays or that nice shoujo-manga forum with stuff from margaret, betsufre etc. or the nice people who continued scanlating some yaoi mangas that are licensed but not released in English. They only wanted to share the joy for those who really loved the series and could not wait a year until the English release or for those who support the author by buying the Japanese version directly.) were taken down, ceased publishing mangas or became private.
Well, you can say thanks to most of your beloved mass-aggregator sites for that. They did not heed the warnings and put stuff that was expressively forbidden from being uploaded on those sites. More than that, some tried hacking into the forums once they became closed. Imagine the greed necessary to hack someone else's site so you can steal their work... :angry cloud:
And that wasn't enough. Some even tried to send the publishers and lawyers after them once it became clear, they couldn't hack into the servers or w/e. So by reading on those sites, you're actively supporting criminals and low-lives that make money out of other people's hard work.

The latter is the reason so many Japanese publishers have taken up legal suits against scanlators because they often cannot even get the a**holes responsible (aka the mass-aggregators), not even with their superbly paid lawyers. Those sites are making millions. So it's not a small issue anymore. Most publishers would probably feel less inclined to take down fan-subs, if there was no one making a crap load of money with it. But like this they lose not only the sales-revenues (which can be contested as most people would still not buy the release) but also don't gain the millions from ads the mass-aggregators do. So on the publishers side it's a lose-lose.

Please stop reading at their sites and only do so, if bato.to does not offer the manga in question. You only have to register once. That does not even take you 5 minutes. But if it can help keeping YOU supplied with mangas for free in the future (because scanlators don't feel exploited and publishers don't feel threatened by mass-aggregators making millions off their stuff), it should be in YOUR interest to do so.

A reason many people have stated they prefer reading on another site than bato.to is that 1) they do not have to register elsewhere and 2) they can view all images on one page instead of clicking through them.

As for 1)...Bato.to has never sent me any sort of spam mail or w/e and as far as I can tell my mail hasn't found itself forwarded to some creeps either, so I can assure you, that this is no scam site. They need to use this method in order to minimize server costs and advertisements, which should actually please you. They put a lot less ads than other sites do (and no creepy porn or fishing/virus sites as ads) and this in itself, should be worth the sacrifice of a one-minute registration. They do not need your address or phone number or w/e BS other sites try to rip of you at any chance. So don't be so lazy or give us some excuse. We spend hours and days working on a chapter. The least we can expect from you in return, is to heed our hosting policy.

As for 2)...If you really prefer viewing all images on one scrolling site instead, you can also do so via bato.to. At some point in the future, they might enable this as a general option (Remember server costs etc? Another reason you might want to support it) because they are steadily trying to improve the reading experience. But for now you'll simply have to use a small tool to change the image order. Please refer to this reddit post.

Should we find our stuff re-uploaded on those sites, we will put fugly stamps and stuff on our releases looking similar to what Sky of Snow did on that KH release
Spoiler: click to toggle

and it'll all be the fault of those lovely sites. So do us and yourself a favor: should you see them uploaded on those sites, contact us so we'll issue take-down requests. Thank you. :smilenormal:
