Has anyone used the FilmLoop feature in photobucket? It says it's free but you have to download something to your computer.

I posted this question a few days back. I guess since there haven't been any replies that means nobody has used it correct or am I just being ignored? :(

Hi Carol..
I'm sorry that we didn't pick up on your post earlier. I have looked at that new feature on Photobucket but when I determined that something had to be downloaded I decided to hold off. I think I will crank up my old computer and download that feature and see what it is all about and if the download has any potential problems. I'll do that and post back later today.

Thank you Birdie. Sometimes I post a topic and never get any kind of reply - not even an "I don't know". Other times I reply to a post and then it seems like everyone quits posting in it after mine. I sometimes feel like I enter a room and everybody scatters. Of course I should say this seems to happen in the "other" forum. Can't see a pattern here yet as the forum is still new. I think by the time I get around to posting something most people have already moved on to other topics. I'm not on enough to form any bonds with the members really. I'm always a day late and a dollar short I guess. :(

Thanks Milt. Thats why I was scared to try it out - because you have to download something to use it. I don't like to be the guinea pig. I like to wait for other peoples advice on something new.

Oh Carol, please don't feel like that..........you are as much a part of our forum family as anyone else!!!! There have been times when I would read a post by someone and not have any answers to it so I don't post on it. I did see your original question but didn't answer because I haven't used the new thing. We will let our Milt test it out.

Well Carol, this old Guinea Pig tried it but chickened out
I started the download and it got to a certain point and it wanted:
FULL NAME
EMAIL ADDRESS
ZIP CODE
AGE
No way! It may not be a particular security risk but from the text they do say that it will feed advertisements to you. That's why the service is free. I know it is a way of sharing photos, but I'm not clear on how it works. In any case, I did not complete the install. At the best, that program would blast you with ads. And, it is always possible that it could be a security risk. I don't need any of that. So, I don't think it is worth the risk. But, you decide for yourself.

Thanks for bringing this up Carol.

I am glad you tried that out Milt. I have Photobucket too and saw that there but never tried it. I won't fill out my name and address on anything that says you will get adds from them.In my hotmail I even signed up with a bogus name etc. Of course it was my maiden name but the address wasn't right. Too risky!

I should say I am sorry, Carol. Normally, once a day I go through the posts that have not been answered. Since I am here, I have a problem even following my own posts  . I should find a way soon to bump the posts again ;) I am sure nobody did this on purpose.

I think I'll stay away from the film loop feature also. I've had photobucket for a long time and love how simple it is. I don't want to take any chances either ! :o

I knew if I whined I'd get some help! Just kidding!
