Thanks .....when I am in Maryland my friend Joanne and I go
on photo shoots. We have a great time and get some really
nice pictures. It is nice to have a friend that likes the same
strange things that you do. :D

Beautiful pictures!

Lula, I use the Macro setting on my camera. It lets me make very close shots. And I take a lot of the same thing hoping to get one or two good ones.

I was so glad to see this hyacinth come up this year. I'm not good with plants at all so this one was a real surprise to see it come back after being planted last year. I had heard from a green thumb that they normally don't do too well. It has such a sweet fragrance!

So you see, you do have a green thumb after all which is only just a matter of looking after them after you have planted them. Check that they get just about enough water and not too much of it either and that they also get the right amount of light and temperature.

Good luck with that hyacinth, looks great - Rip

JoAnn, your pictures were a real delight. I don't know how I missed seeing them earlier.

I hope the hyacinth makes it after the hard freeze of last night!! :( Very nice picture, though. :)

JoAnn, loved your photos!

I was glad to have taken the photo of the hyacinth, as I'll have it longer than the flower. At least it wasn't the freeze that got to it, I guess they have a short life span. I was surprised it bloomed so early, really. Or maybe it's the cold snap of the weather that makes me think we're still in Feb!

Lovely little hyacinth, Tngirl! We seldom have them come back a second year because the moles and skunks eat them. Our daffodils and tulips come back because the bulbs are poisonous and the creatures don't eat them, except for the deer and they only eat the leaves.

I'm so glad that you're enjoying my photos! I don't have any kind of secret for making them. It is a lot of trial and error and I delete dozens that don't turn out the way I had hoped.

Here are a couple more:

Victoria Lily. Leaves are about 3 feet across and will support a small child. My daughter grew this one in our Koi pond.

My sister had birdseed stored in these cans. She heard a noise one night and found this raccoon. He had taken the lid off and was having a feast of birdseed.

How neat Jo Ann. I would never have know what the Victoria Lily was if you hadn't told. Really a fantastic picture. And the little raccoon is so cute. You were lucky to get that shot, I would say....Thank you so much for sharing... :)
