It looks as though you all had a ball..What a great family you have....Thank you for sharing Jo Ann.

We use to go skiing and fishing all the time. The kids loved it. Only we would do it the hard way. When we went camping, we went camping !! With a tent and everything you had to lug with you to do that....We would keep the boat busy doing something all day long..

Then my husband got into Dirt bike motorcycles..My son loved to motocross race.
We would go to the river with the dirt bikes and eat dirt. Not as clean as being at the lake..But the kids loved it..

Now that my husband is retired, he hardly ever wants to go across town.. :(

I really enjoyed seeing your photos immensely. Thank you. That home must be fantastic. What a stairway up and down the cliffs! For some reason (ignorance probably) I never think of Texas being anything but flat, dry, and hot. Obviously I have never visited there. Tumbleweed can clue me in of course. It must be a beautiful place.

Why is that? Mine too. He never wants to go anywhere or do anything with me. When I ask him why he just says, "I dunno." Frustrating!!! The only time I get to see anything new is when we have visitors staying with us.

Oh, it was nice to be missed Lula! We had a great time, but John and I didn't enjoy the stairs going down to the water. We both have knee joint replacements so we found a boat ramp that we could walk down...much easier than the stairs.

Some people even have elevators there! I had never seen that before, but had never been to a lake that had sheer walls on part of it with the homes and condos built at the top.

Rose, Texas has many areas that are different from the rest. I grew up where it was just like you described...flat, hot and dry. You can see forever there...no trees unless they have been planted. Other areas are forests and hills. We go through forests when we go to the gulf area. So TX has it all!

Sorry about y'all's fuddy duddy husbands! My husband is ready to go at a moments notice since he's retired. But it takes all kinds, doesn't it?

Jo Ann is right Rose..Texas has some of it all..She is really big you know...Texas I mean, not Jo Ann... :P
I live up here in the Panhandle where there is lots of flat farm land, with the exceptions of Palo Duro Canyon, and a few areas.. Just down south of me is West Texas which is hot, dry and barron..Been lots of oil taken out of this great state....As Jo Ann said, East Texas has the piny woods and even some swamp land and Rolling Hills around Dallas and Ft Worth...We have some mountains down in the Big Bend area. And of course we have the Coast lands..

There is lots to come and see in Texas !! :)

Jo Ann those pictures are wonderful. What a beautiful family you have. guess they get it all from some very neat looking grandparents. That is a nice lake, and it looks as though you had a great vacation.

I am lucky also to have a hubby that is always ready to go and likes to do almost anything.......as long as someone else does the planning and doesn't bother him with it.
We just got back from West Virginia...had a cabin in the mountains and it was just beautiful, the weather was perfect and the little nearby town was really laid back and relaxed. The people were very friendly and lots of good food!!! If only I could take pictures like Jo Ann.
