Payaran Falls

Rodriguez, Rizal

It's 45-minute easy hike from the Mascap Baranggay hall, the jump off point. Two-thirds of the hike is an easy walk, literally, both on paved roads and dirt roads. The last stretch, the remaining one-third, is just what many call "hayahay" climb on a 100-meter hill where the falls is nestled. 'Hayahay' is a Tagalog word, meaning, "good life" or simply "easy".

The Falls

You'll love to stand right where the water drops, letting the water somewhat massages your shoulder and back. The cool water relaxes you after that tiring trek on Mt. Sipit Ulang or Mt. Oro or even Mt. Ayaas.

There's a hidden pool above the falls, by the way. The pool is around 3-feet deep and 10-feet wide. The water is much clearer there too. Try it!

PHOTO BELOW: They added this wall to deepen the pool in order to make it more enjoyable for visitors. Kids can swim on this 3-feet deep pool nonetheless. Caution them nevertheless since there are around 2 big rocks located somewhere in the middle of the pool that you cannot see from above the water. If you are careless, your knee or your head might hit these and cause you severe injury. No diving, please.

The road to Payaran!

One of our colleagues, the guy in red, surprised these kids by sharing with them chocolates! This guy by the way, is a Chinese Malaysian.
