I am only 35 years old and I was diagnosed with "psoriatic arthritis" which affects the joints. My hands take a beating as it is because I am a mechanic. It has gotten to the point that I have trouble using them anymore. I also got signs of it showing up in my knees which also sucks!

The only option I have to correct this is surgery, but I cannot afford to be laid up for an extended period of time.

Here is a pic of my right hand which is the worse...................

It sure isn't pleasent. My buddy's wife has it. She is on a cocktail of drugs.

I know somewhat what it's like. I know I don't but you know what I mean.

It is very painful! My doctor's have given me pain meds, but I am not one to take pills.
First thing in the morning, they hurt like hell until I start to work them through the day, then the hands are OK.

It sux, but I will live :)

Dang, that does suck. I have a few medical problems myself. Both of my shoulders are double jointed and pop out sometimes when I'm pushing on things (like a mower), that really hurts. Also, my right knee cap is dislocated and grinds the bone on the side of my knee ( may go under the knife soon). This doesn't bother me too much unless I'm biking, hiking, or walking long distances. I have to see a chiropractor once every month or two for upper back problems.
I'm only 18!

And to top it all off I have a rare but seemingly harmless chromosome dishorder which can be passed down ginetically and cause some other more severe dishorders. My sister, for example, is the longest living case of Trisome 14, a very rare and extremely dangerous chromosome dishorder. Her life expectancy was only 3 years, she is now a healthy (for her condition) 21 year old. She suffers from chronic seizures and is on quite a few drugs for them. Doctors say, without her medications she would be in a constant seizure and probably wouldn't last more than a few minutes.

Sorry to fill this up with all my problems but I thought I'd just let you know, it could be worse.
