I am this Awesim Story Teller after all Here is my Story Teller talents in my writing abilities. Yes I know very much about my poor grammer, alright. Geeesh, if you complain about my grammer I shall untitled you to be my personal editor, fair game! Internet Clues: Episode: What is a Emoticon? Written By: Story Teller Dated: 28.10.06 (29.11.06) Copyrighted: Drew's Imagination & Story Teller, the author Permission To Use: RPG RPG Revolution, Awesim Forums, and Planet ETF Forums. (I didn't include the links, so relax) Since the dawn of the computer age after Bill Gates founded Microsoft in the 80's and so on. A man in early 1981 named Scott Fahlman decided to be this genius and give us all a wonderful gift. This gift was known as his greatest achievement, the emoticon. You see Scott had this unusual condition that no one knew about, he couldn't express himself through his own emotions due some children accident in 1960's. Scott decided to change his unnamed 'condition' and give endless possibilities to the modern growing computer technological world that this gift, the emoticon could achieved.
Emoticon, the word came from two words melted together to coined one word and new meaning and understanding.
Emotion: To express one self through facial features and/or body language. For Example: Bring some emotion in your performance, Jim. Icon: An symbol that is has many meanings to list them all. For Example: "Here is my new desktop icon that I custom made for Mullet Man." Emotion + Icon = Emoticon Emoticon: To express one self through using little animated grapic icons through many message boards as well as MSN Instant Messanger. The proper word is Emoticon, but the word has been replaced by the word Smilies based on the first emoticon ever created It has been proven that new emoticons is awaiting to be discover every 7 minutes by some poor newbie that doesn't have good reasoning skills to begun with to simply cope with the new discovery. It has been recorded through great research that there is exactly 482,750,247 known emoticons in existence today (Simmons, p. 72). Awe yes, the simple : ) and LOL wasn't enough to please everyon within the technological world to produced OMG WTF emoticons to spread what is known as the SODS virus. What is the SODS virus, you may ask yourself? The SODS is short for the Smilie of Death Sydrome, which is recently rising within early teens and young adults that create their own boards using the popular forum host known as InvisionFREE. This virus isn't a virus at all, but a rare condition that plagues every 7 out of 200 people every year. This number is beginning to rise that in 2020, it shall be 25 out of 200 people. The 'virus' condition has no cure as of yet because using emoticons has been improved to be addicting to use often without no end. It is like a second lanuage within this universal technological world, which everyone knows the simple : ) and LOL signs since they were 4 years ago (Johnson, p. 12) SODS should be taken very serious condition that has increased over the year six years since 2000 (Sindey, p. 37-42). It is spreading without no end with concerns for the future of mankind if SODS, isn't resolved soon that in 2050 the SODS would take over the language system forever killing the structure of what we know as our language. But this should not worry many people because the AOL disease should increase to deadly numbers before SODS ever reaches to its peak of controling everyone's personality through the emoticon lanuage system. What Scott didn't realized in 1981 at the time when he created the first emoticon the : ), he would eventually slowly decrease the universal lanuage system which everyone shall use emoticons to simply express themselves forever and forever it shall be known as simply as the emoticon plague. Overall, the condition has risen many theories to why people just use emoticons and luv them to death, but none has proven to really worried much people now these days. Everyone is a little guilty in emoticons. Sadely enough, further research in finding a cure has made many top end geniuses to simply LOL that this isn't a real issue to be taken serious enough to save what little we know about the emoticon virus. Hopefully, you enjoy my really damn long introduction topic!!! Regards, Story Teller |

or ;). When the colon is replaced with the equals sign, =), the nose is almost always omitted (so one would not see =-), for example). This is also used to make figures, objects and animals, in other words an art-form.
