Hotter than your average...
I really need to get cracking on some of the books I bought and haven't touched yet. Top of the list is "Armada" by Ernest Cline. If it's anywhere in the ballpark of how good "Ready Player One" was (I know, I shouldn't have such high expectations), I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I need to check out that Ready Player One. Been intrigued by it since you first mentioned it.

It's by far the best book of the post-millennium that I've read, at least from a fiction standpoint. (My reads tend to gravitate towards autobiographies, memoirs, and sports/pop culture history, so I freely admit I'm not the typical "well-read" type.)

At some point I'm going to check it out...I have a ridiculous backlog on my iPad, though. Talking 20-30 books. Haha

I love the song of ice and fire series.

But I really like GRRMs' Wild Card series as well.

I am a fan of Black Library which produces the Warhammer 40k books. I am a fan of author Dan Abnett writer of the "First and Only" Guants Ghost along with a few others, though Abnett's my favorite.

I told Joyce this the other day, but I'm a MASSIVE Stephen King fan. Picked that up from my mom...inherited her collection when she passed away and have continued it in the seven years since. I own every single hardback book he's ever written.

Tim - Absolutely agreed. Although I wasn't really a fan of inserting himself into the series.

Maybe its the kid in me or my interest in Greek mythology but I enjoy the Percy Jackson/heroes of olyumpus book series. I read them through at least once a year and I'm due.

Totally missed this, lol. For anyone that doesn't know already, I've self-published several indie horror novels/collections over the past year. Check them out at www.facebook.com/JMHorrorFiction

And in terms of what I'm reading now, just recently finished Bird Box by Josh Malerman. I'd highly recommend it for horror fans...creepy/atmospheric story.

And along with him, I know Tim was working on a book. And Joyce knew, but I'm also working on two books.

I've been working on a book in my head for six years. I doubt it ever gets past that stage though. Haha

I've been reading Game of Thrones for about 8 months now. Partly because I only read it while getting my every 6 week treatment... though I should read it more frequently. Just been lazy.

I'm now reading two new books:

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski...just finished it. Absolute mind twister. Loved it.

And now I'm working on The Troop by Nick Cutter. It's great so far.
