**DURING THE 12-MAN TAG MATCH**

The roar of the crowd was deafening in her ears as she followed the pretty blonde backstage, abandoning her plans of attacking her ex-husband. Spurred on by rage, the cowardice of Osbourne Kilminster avoiding attacking her...only to roll her up while she was distracted. The Valkyrie only saw red when she’d grabbed that chair from under the ring. It had only been Stacy Vandervort’s sweet voice to pull her down from the adrenaline-fueled rage and follow her backstage.

She had been eliminated, after all. There was no more reason for her to stay.

Stacy had a hold of her hand once they were behind the curtain and the Executive Assistant led the former stripper back to a secluded office. The door was shut and locked as soon as Sinn was seated on the bench in there.

She didn’t speak, not at first. She just sat down next to her former lover, wiped a good portion of the blood from her face and kissed her. Stacy pulled back after a moment, pushing the loose tendrils of dark hair away from Jada’s face with care. Her expression that of concern and longing, as she spoke softly.

“God, I’ve missed you.” The concern lasted only a moment before Stacy’s expression hardened and she took Jada’s cheeks in her hands. “What were you thinking?! You can’t take a chair to your ex-husband on national television, Jada.”

The Valkyrie’s hands came up, wrapping tightly around the blonde’s wrists to pull those slender hands away. “It’s no less than he deserves.”

”You don’t believe that,” Stacy was quick to counter, “I know how much you still care about him. What is going on with you?”

“I can’t do this anymore.” The raven-haired beauty’s green eyes bored hard into Stacy’s bright blue for just a moment before looking away. She released her uncomfortable grip on the younger woman’s arms, wiping away more of the drying blood with her forearm. The silence between them was almost palpable. ”I can’t do this.”

“Jada, please...talk to me. What is going on?” She pulled the former World Champion’s gaze back up to her own before she noticed exactly what it was that was plaguing Jada Kaine. “You know I can’t get out you out of contracted drug tests. We talked about that.”

All she had to do was really look at her.

Stacy had a gift for reading people, for playing off their true desires to get exactly what she needed. It was what initially drew them together, that skill. How many nights had they spent together, simply watching the people walking down the street past her rented yellow Victorian house and almost instantly be able to see their life story? The EWA Executive Assistant kissed her again, though it wasn’t nearly as passionate this time. More a comforting kiss, to let the owner of Valhalla know she was present...here. With her.

“What do you need?” Stacy squeezed the brunette’s hand.

Sinn’s eyes closed and she took a deep breath, bringing the full weight of her gaze back to Stacy.

“Him.” A sharp pause, before she exhaled. “I just need him. He’s the only one I trust.”

“But--”

There was a snarl from the former stripper, “But what? GRIMM, Johnson, Jaime Alejandro...I can’t trust them with this. Just get me him, or I’ll find another way.”

People would never believe it, but she hadn’t actually allowed him to touch her.

She couldn’t. She didn’t deserve that physical comfort, not when she felt so goddamn filthy. Though she was only covered in her own sweat and blood, Sinn had been in the shower for more than thirty minutes now. Just letting the powerful spray of hot water be a spiritual cleansing as well as a physical. After the show, she’d accepted the offered ride back to the hotel from Goeren. She’d been pinned by her ex-husband in a quick turn around, prompting the angered response and subsequent talkdown by Stacy.

Jada stood there, head bowed forward as the water made her black as night hair stick to the sides of her face and down her back.

Throbbing pain echoed through her features, radiating outward from her orbital bone. That fucking eye.

For more than six months, she’d just dealt with it. Continued to work half-blind and resigned to the fact that she would never be able to regain full vision in that eye. Months of searching for a doctor, countless hopeless diagnoses before one hopeful surgeon in Japan changed all of that. He’d fixed it, corrected the scarring and gave her sight in that eye back.

Sinn reached up, running a hand down her face and exhaling deeply.

Without warning, the five on five onslaught begins. Thomas Manchester Black targets ‘Devious’ Danny Evers. Ainsley Lake takes on Sinnocence. Dan ‘The Lights’ Stein locks up with Kenji Yamada. Corazon and ‘Ravishing’ Ron Barker go head to head while Nightmare and Osbourne Kilminster greet one another in the center of the ring, everything on the line. Kenji punches Stein back, leaping up vertically into a hurricanrana, only to drag Stein completely out of the ring and to the outside of the ring. Once outside, Kenji reaches underneath the ring and brings out a long rectangular box.

Eryk Masters: What is that?

Kenji rips the box open and reveals…TUBE LIGHTS. Kenji holds one up like a baseball bat and measures Stein as he gets to his feet. Stein spots the light tube and turns his head JUST in time to catch a HARD light tube shot to the back of the head, bringing Stein to the ground! Meanwhile, Black legsweeps Evers to the mat and leaps up for a flying knee drop, only for Evers to roll out of the way. Black clutches his knee but doesn’t stop, getting up to his feet and catching a Danny Evers dropkick, sending Black to the corner. Evers grabs Lake and whips her to the corner, but Lake counters and Evers FLIES into the corner with a splash! Black staggers out and Evers catches him in the Kastfall Part ONE!

Eryk Masters: Been a LONG time since I’ve seen that move! A diving DDT, akin to Christian Cage’s reverse diving DDT, an homage to his mentor and friend, OutKast!

Lake, meanwhile, scurries over to Sinnocence who hip tosses her down to the mat. Lake lands in a seated position and Sinn immediately manages to hit a dropkick to Lake’s back. Kenji slides her a light tube and Sinn lifts it up high over Lake’s head. Suddenly, however, the light tube is RIPPED from Sinn’s hands! Sinn looks back and sees Danny Evers holding the light tube, the fans popping as Evers glares HARD at her! Sinn begs off, and Danny looks down at the light tube, smirking. Suddenly, his eyes snap over to her and a grin crosses his face…AND HE SHATTERS THE LIGHT TUBE ACROSS SINN’S FACE.

She would never forget that Pay-Per-View in SHOOT Project. Danny Evers took away her sight.

Jeff Hansen: HOE-LEE-SHIT!!!

Sinn falls to the mat, shrieking in pain. Of course, who should hear it but the team captain and Sinn’s lover, who NAILS Nightmare to disorient him as he charges at Evers. Evers spots Ozzy coming for him and tries to duck out, but Ozzy will have none of that and he locks Evers in a full nelson and SLAMS him down to the mat with a full nelson slam! This time, however, Ozzy isn’t done, yanking Evers BACK up…and SLAMMING him BACK down to the mat with ANOTHER full nelson slam!! He sprawls over Evers, pummeling him with HARD strikes until Corazon appears behind him, slamming him in the back with his elbow! Ozzy is pulled off of Evers by Corazon, who IMMEDIATELY attacks with the Acts of Brutality! Ozzy staggers backwards and Corazon NAILS the Brutality Check on him, dropping Kilminster to the mat! Corazon staggers from the superkick and Ron Barker IMMEDIATELY catches him with PERFECTION!!! Barker goes for the pin fall, and Austin Linam slides into the ring to make the count!

ONE!!!

TWO!!

Nightmare FORCIBLY pulls Barker off of Corazon by his hair, only to have Barker gouge Nightmare’s eyes! With Corazon down, Barker turns to pin him again, but AINSLEY LAKE charges at Barker, BUT BARKER CATCHES HER!! PERFECTION!!! Ainsley Lake is DOWN! Barker grins, motioning to Sinn, who is bleeding profusely from the various cuts on her face from the light tube. Even through her blood, she sees her prey. As Danny Evers starts to come to, Sinn scurries over to Lake, and Austin Linam is there to count the pin fall!

ONE!!

Stein’s back in the ring, but gets tripped up by Kenji!

TWO!!

Evers is up, groggy, and leaps to catch Lake, only to catch a Ron Barker spinebuster!!

THREE!!!!

War Games...a fed-wide stable war. Sons of Liberty versus Jonny Johnson’s group of ragtag fucks. This past Battlelines was just goddamn deja vu, even though last time she’d been on the losing side. It was why she’d been so damn hesitant to join an outright war in the first place, why she hadn’t understood Os’s decision to champion Gates’ cause. Hadn’t he learned from the past?

There was a fair and honest woman in charge now, but who knew how long it would last. Erik and Michael Draven were both self-serving assholes, it would only take a single sentence to install whomever they liked as Executive Assistant if Stacy failed to live up to their expectations. An outright war served no one...and now, Ozzy was on the losing side again. She didn’t want to think on how much that had to hurt him. Or how enraged his students had been upon seeing him screwed over. Those who didn’t learn from history were doomed to repeat it.

She looked up, the dark circles under her eyes as her one good eye focused on the naked man standing outside the glass shower walls.

A German man, looking in at her with some concern, though he was completely naked.

And he really did have his cock tattooed.

Not something she wanted to see. Ever.

Jada moved, turning off the spray and opened the door, the steam curling around her like a sheer curtain. She caught Azrael Goeren’s eyes with her own verdant green, speaking softly. “What do you want?”

“Jada, meine blasse Blume,” He leaned in to kiss her, but her hand came up to stop him...even as his own wrapped around her and pulled her naked form against his. “I have found my peace in being with you. Where is yours?” The German sleaze’s skin was hot, inviting...and she was finding it hard to resist that calling in her blood. Sinn was a creature of earthly delights, a hedonist to her core...an addict. She took a breath, she’d been clean for nearly eight years now. She would not let the china white sink its claws into her again.

She’d always managed to distract herself with skin.

She didn’t want his skin.

She wanted another man’s, holding her down against soft cotton sheets. Hearing his gruff voice sigh her name as she rode him, a heat building between them that scorched her very blood. His fingers leaving bruises on her skin from the strength of his grip. He was a god of strength incarnate, made just for her.

But this one would have to do.

He was no god, but he would do.

For now.

“I want to sleep, Henrik. I just want to sleep.”

“Then we will just sleep.”

He reached for a towel, wrapping it around her soaked frame before bending his knees a bit. Goeren picked her up, an arm under her back and the other under her knees. A mighty Valkyrie would share his bed, and she would take him to Valhalla. He threw back the duvet on the massive king bed, setting her down gently and curled up behind her. She gave him some measure of peace, the least he could do was offer her some comfort in return.
