HOPE vs. DELUSION; Shinya/Maya Battle Royal
Topic Started: May 16 2016, 03:12 AM (22 Views)
Maya Nakashima

At one point, Maya had been hopeful that he could get through the Shinya. He saw something in Shinya that he thought no one else could see but…

Shinya kept resisting.

He thought by this point he would have changed Shinya at least a little bit, that he would have seen something shift in his attitude. But Shinya persisted, he kept trying to attack Maya and derail him, to destroy him as the ultimate despair for the world of EWA. While Maya once thought the light of HOPE could reach Shinya…

Now he wasn't so sure.

Shinya was tired of being weak. How many chances did he have to END Maya once and for all? Maya might have gotten the better of him when they first met, but Shinya has picked Maya apart ever since… but he could never finish the job.

Maya was right there, in the middle of the ring, and Shinya could have caved his skull in.

But he didn't.

Something inside was still holding him back.

Memories of a time long past, before this blood soaked war. A fleeting memory that tugged at his heart and stoned his muscles. Chains that bound him and wouldn't let him take that final step, his final step towards absolution. The chains refused to let him be truly free, they bound him to a memory that was no longer his.

Shinya was tired of being so weak.

Maya knew he loved Shinya, even now, more than anything and he would keep fighting for him even if Shinya resented him at every turn. But it felt like Maya was fighting for a ghost, a fleeting memory that was a whisper in the wind. A memory he could so clearly see but… was so very distant from his reach.

No matter how hard Maya ran, it seemed like Shinya kept getting further and further away. If he didn't do something soon then Shinya would… if Maya didn't do something drastic then… then…

He would truly lose Shinya forever.

It was bad enough already, seeing Shinya as he was, Maya had a hard time sleeping and concentrating. But if he lost Shinya, if Maya truly lost all HOPE in Shinya…

Maya's world would end, and that scared him.

They would both be participants in a Battle Royal to determine the number one contender…

And Shinya would use that to finally put Maya to rest. Not only that, Shinya could become the number one contender and shower the EWA in fire when he captured the prize that he deserves… the EWA World Championship. It was the perfect storm for him, it would be the catalyst for breaking the chains that bound him to his weak past.

When Shinya was done, Maya would leave the EWA forever a broken shell. The SAME way that Maya left him in Japan, broken and without a shred of HOPE left in his body. Maya would finally understand what it felt like, he would understand exactly what Shinya went through.

And Shinya would revel in it, he would cherish each second of misery strewn across Maya's face.

As streamers rained from the heavens, Maya would bow his head low in shame and walk to the back, never to return again.

At the Battle Royal, without a doubt…

Maya was going to do everything in his power to bring Shinya back. The title of number one contender didn't matter, Shinya meant more to Maya than any title ever would. Even if it meant fighting him, Maya had to try everything to bring Shinya back.

Maya would fight through anyone standing in his way to get to Shinya, and he knew Shinya might not listen and he knew he might have to fight him but…

What else could Maya do?

Everything Maya ever wanted from his life was standing right there, opposing everything he stood for. If he couldn't fight with everything he had know then when… when could he?

There was a prize more important to Maya than anything…

Maya would give anything for…

Shinya wanted nothing more than to get rid of the terrors that haunted his mind every second of every day. And now was his opportunity to do just that.

Maya wanted nothing more than to bring back the love of his life, to bring Shinya out of the dark and into the light. He wanted to be happy with Shinya, just like they used to. And now was his opportunity to do just that.

Nothing else mattered.

HOPE.

DELUSION.

The driving forces behind the ideologies of the once lovers that now clash yet again. One soul unwilling to harm his former love and the other haunted by the memories he lost, unable to harm his former love. Will their struggle finally come to an end, will HOPE fade or will the memories finally stop DELUSION?

Will Maya bring back Shinya…?

Will Shinya bury Maya…?

One thing is clear, they will fight to the last at Battlines XII.
