Interesting I had always thought the U/C was not correct and comparing the picture of the model and a screen shot take from a Video of a full size Storch the u/c is defiantly wrong,
As part of its weight loss I will reduce the leg uprights.

If you compare an MA prop then a Graupner prop on the same engine in my experience the MA loads the engine a has reduced revs.

So does that mean more thrust, good inflight thrust, not so good acceleration ?

For the same diameter and pitch I would have thought less revs = less thrust but I suppose the only way to find out would be tether the aircraft with a spring balance.

Prop thrust is a complex subject, more revs does not always equate to more thrust. A more efficient prop of the same nominal size may well turn more slowly but produce more thrust. As speed increases efficiency goes down. Very high speed props use a single blade to mitigate this effect so there is less turbulent air for the prop to "grip".

Practical tests are the only way to check as tethered "pull" gives part of the picture but a good indication. For a model such as the Storch I would keep the pitch low to make acceleration good and limit top speed. Having said that if the Storch is heavy the stall speed will be possibly higher than expected so the cruise power setting must maintain a margin above stall speed.

Weight loss complete 6.39kg what ever that is in English but less than 6.8kg.

Removed the pilot, the pits style silencer replaced it with standard ally laser type, remade the wing struts saved over 100gms but no longer looks scale :-(

U/C removed 1" from the leg tubes.

Changed the prop for a 14x7 G/G which has upped the rpm to 8,500.

Thats great well done. Once its flying sweet then put back things gradually but lighter, not as before, eg why can't the struts be scale and 100 gm lighter ? Are you sure you cannot get to 6 kg?

I'm not sure there is much more I can remove. To start making it lighter would require working on the air frame.
One option would be to remove the fuz covering and replace it with something lighter but that would be last resort.

Laser do a 120 that is only 50gms more than the 100 and is 19 cc wheres as the 100 is 16cc.
