It was a lovely day on 27th so I cut the strip, pits and walkways. The underlying ground is still pretty solid but the grass can be a bit slippery. The track across is also still firm but the top surface can be a bit slippy with the recent rain so be careful. The right hand side of the summer parking is getting a bit soft so avoid wheelspin, slow and gentle acceleration works best........ |

The strip was cut again on 14th October but our mower cannot cut it short when it is damp. The grass is actually still quite long and a bit springy. We will be doing a much shorter cut on 20th in the afternoon with a mower that can cope with wetter grass (thanks for the offer Mr Prior). We may need to scarify to get the "thatch" out but will see how the shorter cut goes. It will take a bit longer than usual so any flying will be curtailed, unlikely though as winds forecast 17 mph gusting 32........ |

All done and much shorter now. It will hopefully enable the Club mower to cut shorter as the grass is still growing and will need another cut before long. |
