Actual CPU heat sink

What's your CPU? I bet I can find a CPU Fan for sub $15.

Actually, fuck it. Here. This should fit if you use AMD.

The intel variant is right on the right-hand side, under the price.

Yeah that one fits pretty much any CPU known to man.

The 212 EVO is supposed to be pretty damn good.

I've like, never heard someone say they needed to buy a new computer because their CPU cooler broke, though.

I'ts hard to break them anyway, unless it literally exploded into fragments then you can just throw away the fan(what I assume broke on yours), keep the heatsink on it and at least the heatpipes and cooling fins will take some of the heat away from the CPU and into the case airflow.

Yeah. In which case buying a new fan itself is like $5. Cheap as shit. Unless you're like me and upsize the stock fans for all 120mm's. Then you might jump price a bit. I think my 5 fans were about $15 each, which honestly isn't bad. But liquid cooling. Hue.

Most cases come with a few 120s stock nowadays anyway, don't they?

In which case you'd just need to get a couple 120s and maybe a couple 140s if you want a bit more AF, and that'll be fine.

Water cooling is for pussies, I cool my CPU (all dual-core 2.2Ghz of it) with liquid nitrogen. And my other rig (1.3Ghz single core) is in a tank full of mineral oil.

Huehuehuehuehue.

I'm using an AMD 4.0GHz octocore. So I can only afford watercooling now. ):

Have you got Bulldozer or Piledriver? The FX83xx is a p great CPU for a p great price but I really don't need it so it's the FX 6300 for me. I can use the money I save on the CPU and spend it on those new Steelseries(tm) Gaming Carpets. AMD apparently aren't planning to release Steamroller for the FX line :(

But seriously, I wonder what sort of temps you would get if you cooled my family's old 1.3Ghz Duron with liquid nitrogen.

My current system is a fucking tank though, I'll be sad to see it go D:

It's been heavily used weekly, if not daily, for about 6 or 7 years. I still have the original CPU (the fucking badass as fuck Athlon X2 2.2Ghz), the original motherboard, original PSU, original monitor (1240x1024 ftw), and also the original keyboard and speakers in a box somewhere. I still use XP as well, cause Vista wasn't even around when this thing was made/bought LOL

Piledriver. It's pretty damn strong, but when I OC it for my intense gaming and streaming sessions it tended to overheat using a regular fan, so I ended up moving up to liquid cooling. That's been working well enough at keeping the temperature manageable.
