ENTRANCE & ATTIRE

Entrance Music:
"Another Chance" by LazerHawk

Ring Attire:
See bases

Ring Entrance:
The arena lights slowly dim as the doom-laden synths of “Another Chance” blast out across the arena, and as they dim blue lights fill the entranceway, growing in brightness as the music gets more intense, and as the main hook grows the pairing of Mark Bisley emerge at the top of the ramp, Bisley with an arm raised as he surveys all before him while Majima wears a stony expression

As they walk down the ramp, Bisley stops and holds his arms apart and tilts his head back to tell the entire arena he is here, while Majima stands directly behind him with his arms held aloft as he looks directly towards the ring, with the pair almost resembling the Vitruvian Man as they do this

Making their way to ringside, Bisley lifts himself onto the apron and adopts a kneeling position, pointing to the side of his head a couple of times, while Majima stands beside him and removes his sunglasses, looking out into the crowd. A moment later, Majima steps into the ring while Bisley rolls under the ropes before getting back to a knee in the ring, running his hand on the canvas to say this is my ring while Majima stands behind him rubbing the back of each hand in his palms

Championship Entrance:

A moment later, Majima steps into the ring while Bisley rolls under the ropes before getting back to a knee in the ring, placing his belt on the canvas in front of him as he caresses it with his hand to say this is my title, while Majima stands behind him and raises his title into the air while fixing his opponent with a stony gaze

CHARACTER BACKGROUND

Picbases:
Eddie Edwards & Kento Miyahara

Gimmick:
A team that plan to dominate both the tag ranks and the singles ranks, making a dynasty in the process

Strengths:
1. Scalpel + Broadsword: one minute the opponent has Bisley surgically dismantling them, the next Majima is throwing bombs, with the difference in styles meaning they can control matches as opponents have to adjust on the fly
2. Always have a gameplan: Smart Style always go into matches with not only a main strategy, but also two or three backup plans as well
3. Ring Awareness: both men come from singles backgrounds, so are more than capable of holding their own in the ring should the need arise

Weaknesses:
1. The delay in their debut – there’s no denying there was a gap of several years between the initial idea and the official formation of Smart Style, meaning there’s always a question of failing to strike while the iron was hot
2. Potential brawling weakness – while Majima can handle himself in a brawl, Bisley is less inclined to trade hands and this can be exploited
3. Potential aerial weakness – even though Bisley can and does take to the air and knows how to counter and nullify high flyers, Majima is less well-versed in this

Taunts/Mannerisms:
1. If Majima is making the pin after hitting their finisher, Bisley will sometimes drop to his knees and count in sync with the referee
2. If the opponent is crawling to try and make a tag, Bisley will slide in front of them to block them off (similar to what The Revival do)

Bio:
The seeds of Smart Style were sewn several years ago, when Bisley and Majima both trained at the same dojo. While they were separated by the Pacific as both men got their starts in the industry, with Bisley going on to great success right out of the gate while Majima worked his way up in Japan, the two remained in contact, and then one day Bisley made a suggestion: why doesn’t Majima join him in the US, where he can gain experience and expand his repertoire – while also aiding Bisley in making a dynasty.

Unfortunately, while the plan was put into action, it didn’t come to fruition as a result of New Wave going into a hiatus, and having stop-start relaunches for some time afterwards. Yet this gave Majima purpose, as he decided that he would not let his time in North America be a failure, which is why he signed with Lion’s Den Fighting Championship, and later moved on the 3GW with the rest of the Lion’s Den roster. During this period, Majima began to grow – that is until he too found himself a victim of stop-start relaunches.

Seeing this, and how his ally had endured some less than respectful treatment in 3GW, Bisley contacted his ally and suggested that, with Majima still tied to FGA, maybe now is the time to put their plan into action and create a new dynasty, one starting from the bottom and building to the top.
