STATS Wrestler's Name: A.C. Smith Wrestler's Nickname: The Big Apple Asskicker D.O.B.: 11/25/80 Height: 6'8'" Weight: 275 lbs Alignment: Heel Spectrum: (1 - 4) | Tweener: (5) | Face Spectrum (6 - 10) 10 (uber-face) Billed From: New York, NY Pro Debut: Summer of 2002 MOVESET Grappling Style: 1. Powerhouse 2. Technician Finishing Moves: 1. Big Apple Asskicker (Gorilla press slam -> big splash; in big matches, Smith will, every once in a while, deliver the splash from the top rope, and people should not kick out of that if it hits) Trademark Moves: 1. Police Lineup (Smith grabs an inverted front facelock with his opponent facing up and delivers three forearm smashes to his opponent's chest (that the crowd counts along with), followed by an elbow that knocks his opponent to the ground) 2. Spinebuster 3. Quick powerslam (think Randy Orton's variation) 4. Ace Crusher (often a rally-stopper that leaves both him and his opponent out on the mat) 5. Spinning elbow off the ropes, followed by a standing elbow drop Common Moves: 1. Clothesline 2. Sideslam 3. Various amateur wrestling takedowns (single or double-leg) 4. DDT 5. Belly-to-belly suplex 6. German suplex 7. Stalling suplex/slam (think Davey Boy Smith's stuff) 8. Backbreaker ENTRANCE & ATTIRE Entrance Music: "Ghost Riders in the Sky" - The Outlaws (beginning at 0:30) Ring Attire: About as basic as it gets, with short, black tights, black elbow pads/knee pads, and black boots. Outside the ring, he's usually clad in a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Ring Entrance: The licks of The Outlaws' take on "Ghost Riders in the Sky" blare over the speakers, and the crowd gets to its feet as "The Big Apple Asskicker" A.C. Smith strides to the ring. He high-fives and fist-bumps younger children at ringside, but his steely, brown-eyed glare never wavers from the ring. He enters through the ropes and bounces off of them on opposite sides a few times, only playing to the crowd after he's fully warmed up. Championship Entrance: Same, except the longer intro to "Ghost Riders in the Sky" sometimes plays, to heighten anticipation for Smith's arrival. CHARACTER BACKGROUND Picbase: Batista Gimmick: Once an NYPD police officer, Smith turned to wrestling in 2002 after four years pursuing New York's most violent criminals. He's always been a man of honor and dignity, but now, he's fighting for a new purpose: To show his newborn son that good guys can still win in a world where evil is so prevalent. Strengths: 1. Experience; Smith has seen and dealt with pretty much everything, both in life and wrestling. 2. Strength; his size and brute force provides a large obstacle for opponents (literally!). 3. Technical skill; Smith was a gifted amateur wrestler in high school, and has much more in the way of mat skills than 99% of wrestlers his size. Weaknesses: 1. He's in the twilight of his career, and has openly remarked that this is probably his last hurrah as a full-time competitor. 2. While he spent much of 2014-2015 mentoring Escobar, Smith himself hasn't wrestled as a full-time competitor since 2014. 3. Many have remarked that his stubborn demeanor and fairly short temper make him tough to deal with as a tag team partner. Taunts/Mannerisms: None Bio: A familiar face to several members of FGA (namely Evan Envi and Logan Alexander), A.C. Smith has made the decision to return to the ring following an extended hiatus. A six-time World Champion, and with experience dating back sixteen years, the man known as "The Big Apple Asskicker" has been busy the last few years. He married Roxanne, his former NYPD partner, and the two recently welcomed a son, Robert Steven Smith (named in honor of Smith's two best friends, Bobby and Stevie, to whom he owes debts he can never repay). There's not much he hasn't seen. Raised by a single mother, Smith entered the police force out of high school and rose up the ranks while pursuing the most violent criminals in New York City. He left the force in 2002 when discovered by a wrestling promoter who remembered his achievements as a high school amateur wrestler. Since then, he's headlined shows around the world, made peace with his father (who was jailed for a crime he did not commit) before he died of cancer, gotten revenge on a former love interest who faked her death to mess with his mind, and even mentored a budding star before said star opted to return to Mexico and impart wisdom on a younger generation of talent. Smith's never needed the money or the fame that pro wrestling provides. He became a very rich man by investing in the stock market in the mid-2000's and getting out right before the market's downturn, and he and Roxanne share a luxurious penthouse overlooking the East River in New York City. The few people Smith allows to get close to him have remarked that, since the birth of his son, he's grown much more philosophical in nature, remarking about how it's his responsibility to show Robert that the good guys can still prevail over evil. He hasn't wrestled in four years. He certainly never needs to again, either for financial reasons or to justify his standing among the all-time greats. However, as all competitors know, when the itch comes back, there's only one way to satisfy it. As a result, Smith reached out to his former agent, who opened up negotiations with FGA in February of 2018. |
