Just thought i'd get a topic started for everyone to tell people what they like about their life since gA. Think of it as a kind of where are they now thing. Ok, as for me. Since i last played with you guys i've had the following changes in my life. My son is 2 next month (February) So looking forward to that. Moved back in with my mum not long after splitting up with ex. Moved out about 3 months later with a friend. Been with current Girlfriend for just over a year, and moved in with her in April. Were expecting a baby boy on the 3rd March. As for job, i've moved on there too, as most of you might know i used to work at Mcdonalds. Worked there for 5 years (Gosh lol) but decided i had to get out, needed more money and more hours, also a better job in general. Heard that my mums friend was opening a new pub about 2 mins from my house, so i applied and got a job there. So now i have an awesome job as a barman and hopefully soon am getting promoted to Supervisor. Got a new car since i was last here too. My previous car (get ready to lol) Was a Rover 25, had loads of problems with engine and gearbox, so sold that and got a nice green VW Golf mk4. Best car i've had without a doubt, no problems and its pretty sweet too, got a few modifications but still working on some things. In my spare time, i build computers, repair computers, repair Xbox 360's and PS3's and almost anything electrical, bit of spare cash involved there lol. Not much more to say, got into fitness a bit, regularly go on 7-8 mile runs every few days and keep active. Think thats about it. So i'm interested to see what everyone else has been up to, any major changes in your lives? Obviously you dont have to say things that you feel are too personal, so just say what you feel comfortable with, or nothing at all if you wish lol. |

Okay. My turn! Ever since I was a kid I've dreamed of becoming an aviator. When I just became 17, I had already applied to the Dutch Air-force as an Officer Pilot. I was selected and invited, together with about 40 other young guys, to come to the educational qualification center of the Air-force. Made it through with 5 others. Collected my theory book and started my study for aviator. After a month of studying it was time for my next test. Flying in a 2-seat simulator. Made it through all flights. Except for the last flight, flight F. Which was the 6th flight of the day. Each flight was about an hour of "flying". Navigating myself through virtual space, I was finishing my last 90 degree angle. But that last angle was tough as I was knackered. Coming straight out of that angle, I had to reduce power to 2.3k RPM and start my descent. I forgot to lower my pressure on the right pedal, as you always have to push your right pedal to the correct speed when flying a single propeller plane. Which caused me going into the wrong direction. I quickly started fixing everything, getting all my instruments right. And then I checked the last instrument: THE CLOCK. And I noticed I was one minute late into descent. I failed the test. During those flying tests I also followed college, I did "Communication" some sort of economical study. Which I barely payed any attention to, as I was doing what I most liked: "Flying". Quit that college and took a full time job from February 'til August. Now I'm back into college studying history. Might re-apply for the air-force in a year or two. Story of my life. |

I thought it time I posted my happenings since the main stay of gA//. Not really sure when I really 'left' gA but it has been close to 3 years either way. Anyway, at 16 I turned down my place at military college to do engineering, I did my A-levels and also got a part time job working in a camping/climbing shop. I stayed in the Army cadets, rising to the Rank of Staff Sergeant, narrowly missing Sergeant Major, as I went to university. The two years of my A-levels changed my outlook, and I applied to do Geology and Geography at University. I got accepted at Keele University to do a BsC Geology and Physical Geography, which I changed to Masters in Geoscience, and will graduate in another years time. While at uni I have done a fair bit of travelling, spending several months this year in Spain, and also in Iceland doing fieldwork. I like to climb, camp, and do photography in my spare time, and while at uni I work in the students union bar. My masters research is looking at fault mineralisation in the north of england, which I hope to either lead into the mining industry, or from the experience gained from other work, together with my research could allow me to access the oil industry and hopefully earn lots of money, and eventually buy a kick ass PC. Anyway, that's just a bit about me. |

Alrite I guess its my turn :O! After finishing high school I wanted to go to the Militairy Academy(in Breda)to become an infantry officer. But because of all the stupid budget cuts they dont let any in for the next 2 years or so.. Then I decided to study Arabic to become a translator in the army, I was hoping I would have more chance of getting in. But the course i was following wasn't given properly and they made it impossible for any1 to pass. Only the ones who already spoke Arabic had a chance. After that I worked for some months.. and I found out where my real passion is.. HISTORY, so im studying history now in Utrecht! And im liking it. Lots of stuff to do but its all good! Haven't got a room there yet lol. So I have to travel 3 times a week to Utrecht.(2 hours with train and 20 minutes with bus to get there, and ofcourse same time to get back home!) That was about it. King. |

What the Duck! GA IS BACK?! Hey guys, well in the past 4 years or so i have done the same as you lot really :-) i finished school, got my a levels -:) and instead of going onto university I'm doing an Open Uni degree in Criminology while working part time :-). Its really funny just the other day i was thinking i wonder where everyone is now! and now i know ;-) i haven't really played any sort of online game since properly. like completely lost interest because coduo was INSANEEEEEEE. xbox live etc doesn't appeal to me whatsoever, but I guess that's just me that's changed! I'm kinda tempted to go back on coduo just for a game or something, pretty sure I'll suck now though ;-) |
