* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Chicago, Illinois September 17, 2004 9:15 p.m. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * He'd been hammering on the door for around ten minutes now with no answer. Some guy down the hall had yelled at him to shut up or he was calling the cops. The voice sounded drunk. He'd bellowed back to go ahead if he was so hot on the idea, because he thought they might have an emergency. The guy had inquired what it was. Donovan had replied that it'd be his fist in the fucker's lower intestines if he didn't shut the fuck up. He'd shut the fuck up. Though that twinge in his gut was creeping again, screaming that the emergency wasn't just a threat. He hammered at the door for a few more minutes, then heard a voice down the hall. It wasn't the man, and it wasn't cops. It was female. "HEY--" He cut off the knocking immediately, turning in what felt like slow motion. "...Crystal?" The head peeking out the door was an older version of the one he remembered seeing down the hall since he was five years old. He hadn't even thought about her still being there, not even considered it. "D, come in. I think you need to know some stuff." She blinked at him. "But I'm--" "He's not in there. Let's not talk about it in the hall?" She had a point. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Orlando, Florida March 6, 2008 9:15 p.m. * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Florida was certainly not what he wanted for this time of year. It felt like summer was already here, like they'd just up and skipped spring. It was sweltering and sweaty. Gerard Christ was on the horizon, not a definite, but a possibility. But must keep focus. Can't be wandering like last time, or we'll end up screwed over again. For this week... well... this week? Humor a digression for a moment. "So. Everybody... or almost everybody... in HcW looks about the same, sad but true. They're busy trying to be edgy and thug at the same time that they all sort of blended together in this way that made the promo packages and pay per view posters look like they were advertising an emo band that wanted to be the NWA." A pause. "The hip-hop group NWA, you tools. Are you even old enough to remember them? Do you know where the first place the line 'it's better to burn out than to fade away' appeared? Wrong, it was Neil Young. You say you're punk? Do you know what the Sex Pistols' song Holidays in the Sun was about? Of course not. They get lost if you tell them they look like a lost member of Orgy who forgot to bathe or change clothes for a month. 'Who the fuck is Orgy?' "That's it, that's the place. You know, Straight Outta Compton done by My Chemical Romance, except they have no idea what they're singing about. That's the vibe of the fliers they just put out for HcW Insanity." He wondered a little bit if he looked like that to some people. How droll. "So the next time I hear anybody tell anybody to think outside the box, I’m gonna go fucknutty. It’s gonna be amazing. I’m gonna grab them, take them to my house, Googlesearch for the tallest flight of stairs in the world, buy two plane tickets there, drag them to the top of the stairs and push. Oh yeah, I’ll make them buy me a Slinky on the way. Look for it on the news. Bad news for Google shareholders, good news for me. "And when I’m in court, I will ask to be prosecuted under hate crime legislation. Because trust me, hate will be involved." Hah. Hah hah hah. Laugh, ya fuck. Or don't. Whatever. "But this Snakebite, and the World Champ Tyke Index, they don't look like Eminem doing a cover of Sunday Bloody Sunday. They look like-- gasp!-- somebody who's a professional athlete of some variety." Snakebite reminded Donovan of those guys he'd seen so much of in the indies. The guys the oldtimers would've called babyfaces The word had come to mean something stupid and easy to the fans, as if the good guys or the bad guys were that easily discerned. Hell, he'd been the bad guy most places he'd been, and now Vittori was somehow... one of the less-obnoxious individuals here. Babyface. You know, literally. Ignore that he's booed. You know them. There were so many of them coming in the business in the past ten years, and coming in for all the wrong reasons. They'd turned into a blur of homogeny. Don't get it? Stay with us then. "Snakebite? Looks like the kind of nicely-featured generic young man carrying that sort of sculpted bodybuilder muscle you only got from lifting some serious weights in a gym. Gym muscle. The kinda guys who usually go down fast because they think having more muscle equals being able to ground-and-pound you, and they never think about how they have to catch you first. The kind of guys you punk out if you're one of us who're carved out of fucking wood without a scrap on you spare and they're slow from doing lifting instead of aerobics and endurance and stamina. "But Snakebite, like Tyke Index, has been successful. It's clue enough that these guys aren't all about their appearances. In fact, from what I've seen, Snakebite and I have sort of a similar wrestling style, though you'd never think just looking at our blahblahtalking pieces that we had anything in common other than the Homo sapiens species and the same plumbing. "But if you haven't caught the point by now, appearances deceive. And I'm counting on you, Snakebite. I'm counting on you to live up to the hype, man. I'm counting on you... to not be the guy you resemble. I'm counting on you to not be worn down from the big main event at Final Initiation that you got pinned in. I'm depending on you to not be too disheartened from that experience. It's easy to take it to heart. I know, I lost that night too-- a match for your spot. "So hate that. Resent it. Bring it with you. Don't let this be about anything as lame and poseur as Gerard fucking Christ and his trinket. If I can push that aside, then you damn sure can too. Don't worry about fans or management. "As for anything else? I await your response." A fight. What comes to your mind when I say "fight"? Pain? Broken bones? Blood? Give your dread away. Open your mind to it. Bone cracking, eye raking, fierceness shaping flesh. I can taste the blood on my lips. I taste living life, and it's coming out of me. Nobody can stop me. They can't do a thing. Break me. Hit me. Make me spit my teeth out in a bloody soup, smash me in the kidneys. Kick me in the balls. Break my knuckles down. Make me king. Come on. Try it. Take a good look at me now. Are you afraid? Cope with it. Swallow it in, swallow it deep. Don't let it out. Don't talk about it, there's no time for any of that. It's so clear now. What if I smash your teeth out? Cut your face up with a fistful of heavy rings? Or bring even real weapons in? What if I get a little violent to find out what we're both made of? No, this is not one of my freaky delusions. This is real. The fight is real, can't you smell it? The stench of death; when your pride dies, when you know you're not the best, there's always someone else. Will you run? No. There's no place for that here. We eat their flesh alive. |

OOC: Sorry for the lateness, and if it ain't the best rp I've ever posted. You deserve better than this, so I truly apoligize. Good luck this week, and may God bless you tennis shoes.![]() You probably wonder where I've been. Everyone thinks that me being the only HcW original left, I'm supposed to lead by example. Fuck that shit. I'm Snakebite, and I do whatever the hell I feel like doing. The truth is, a great man walked out HcW Champion less than a week ago. But that doesn't stop me from being angry. The better man indeed won, but I still feel like I deserved that belt. The saddest part is that I've been knocked down the ladder....... far. I have went from one of HcW's greats, to one of the guys in that Xtreme Title league. Well.... when I hit you in the head with a steel chair tommorow night, Vittori...... just know it was not because of hatrid for you, it was for the simple fact that I don't want the little people's belt. For a guy like The Gladiator to come in, lose his first match, and be shoved into the main event shows me something. For some ugly motherfuckers to come in, and create some group called Natural Selection, and become the top team in HcW, shows me something. For a guy like Justin Thomas to come in, get an Xtreme Title Match, and then disapear, all in a month's time, shows me something. You see..... HcW has gone down the drain. I've worked my whole life just to make it to HcW. There was nowhere else I wanted to be. I wanted HcW. For me, to do all that work, finally make it, and keep coming back after injuries, and BARELY make it to the main event at Final Initiation shows me something. For a guy like The Highlander to come back for HcW, and get thrown in Tag Match after Tag Match, while getting disrespected, shows me something. For Joel Harper to mysteriously disappear after a couple of matches, shows me something. Especially, after I heard the 'Taurus coming to HcW' news was a fluke, to get attention. HcW is slowly washing away legacies, and rebuilding a foundation of nobodies. Hell, even Salty and Cyclone have faded away. What's that mean? And why is all that any of my business? Because I'm next.... Be real. Why am I, one of HcW's top draws, fighting in an Xtreme Title #1 Contenders Match, right after I was in the best main event we've seen in a long time, at the Pay-Per View? They are throwing me away, slowly, but surely. Well, I don't want your Xtreme Title Match, Lance Mikes. I don't care about Natural Selection, Greeney. Hell, Gerard Christ has already come to me and asked if I'd like to join his stupid group of ass kissers. I guess by me saying 'no', Glen is getting his revenge? NO! Because it's not even about revenge. It's about me being an original. And just like WWE's version of the ECW, all the originals need to go. That's their plan. And you know what? YOU WON'T MAKE ME GO! Only I decide when I'm ready to go. And when that time comes, you will know. Hardcore Championship Wrestling used to be the place to be. But now..... it ain't the place for me. And that's just how it is! See you this Monday, Vittori..... |
