You need to watch this before it drops off the list, kas. I'm positive you're gonna love Mogambo.

So, I thought it might be nice to have a topic to discuss the updates, what we're glad or sad to see go, etc.

Things that stand out from today's update:
Out:
Atatürk: Founder of Modern Turkey gone from docs, that didn't take long
Mei and the Kitten Bus I'm sad it's gone since it's probably a good film, but glad since it get me back my plat.
Rang De Basanti Gone from Comedy, thank you guys for seeing it so I don't have to.

Not sure why Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Some Like It Hot aren't Music anymore, but it's a pretty nonsensical genre.

In:
Munnabhai M.B.B.S. Gahh!
X-Men: First Class in for a brief stay on the Top 250
Truman Show Sci-Fi? Really?

Truman Show Sci-Fi? Really?
For the record: I really like The Truman Show and it is Science Fiction, it takes place in a not too distant future where reality TV has gone too far.

Disappointing to see Munnabhai M.B.B.S. come in the list. Pretty sure I won't like it.

Mei and the Kitten Bus is gone thanks to a few people (who have never seen it) giving it a 1 to get it off the list. I guess it will always get voted off the list until it's available for everyone to see one day.

Music and sports are the worst genres on IMDB for including films that aren't actually about music or sports but just happen to mention them at some point.

Nice. tks for the link :). just finished watching it, decent movie would've been better but it seem to go off in random directions for seemingly no good reason a bit.

Edit: seems im jumped the gun. thought pt 13 was last. then noticed a 15. but no 14? i guess im finishing the movie missing a 10 min section

It was the Indian version of a Robin Williams as a doctor movie.

I watched the new x-men movie today. That was a lot better than I thought it'd be.

It started ok, until it became a shitty by the numbers Marvel franchise with a somewhat disturbing exploitative use of history.

New Update:

Munnabhai M.B.B.S. gone from the 2000s, still in the Comedy list.
Rang De Basanti no longer an action film.

Super 8 makes an appearance in Sci-Fi, guess it'll be on the 2010 and top250 list soon.

Nothing really noteworthy in the rest, just the usual films dropping in and out at the bottom of lists.

The ICM most favorite list continues to slowly get more obscure. Still not sure how I feel about that list having only 5-6 people with silver.

Good news on Musicals, I am up from 39 to 41 with the entrance of Sweeney Todd and Crazy Pete! :D

I also notice Wedding Crashers now in the ICM Most Checked, it removes my Platinum so looking forward to it soon !

What do we have today:
A Tale of Two Cities in the 1930s. I haven't seen it but I like the book so I guess I'll check it out. I don't think this has been on the list before.

Midnight in Paris in Fantasy: I really want to see this, heard great things.

Super 8 and The Tree of Life in 2010s, expected.

Ostrov sokrovishch is out of the independent list

Just noticed Wedding Crashers too. I hadn't seen anything other than the commercials, so it ended up being a completely different movie than I thought it'd be.

It wasn't bad but wasn't anything great.

I thought Wedding Crashers was bad, some of the plot reminded my of an Indian film, without the singing and dancing eg putting something in the food to make someone ill is a tired old trick (I have been watching these Indian films lately and have yet more to come, Happy Days maybe next.. )..

Another Sunday another update.

I haven't seen any of these but I'm not happy to see them:
Ataturk is back in the documentary list.
Bombay is in the musical list
Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is in the independent list.

Never heard of these:
Let the Bullets Fly A Chinese western
The Parlor can be seen here
Radiohead: 7 Television Commercials

Inception is now an adventure film but no longer a mystery film?

Hævnen gets enough votes to enter the 2010 list.

Fitzcarraldo is not a music film?

The Untouchables is not biography?

Yeah, I found a link for it: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8809132000493103360#
They're good music videos, and I guess it's more appropriate than the occasional short TV series that show up on the list, but it's still weird to see a compilation on the list.

I watched The Parlor too and while it wasn't great I found it pretty funny.

Bombai was pretty good actually. It started a bit slow and there are a bunch of annoying scene, but it still has beautiful and powerful scenes.

I agree. There was a decent story that didn't involve either a college student or doctor getting married to a girl that he spends the movie trying to win over, which is hard because she's already planning on marrying, or just dating which turns into an engagement near the end, to someone else.

Mostly nice update today.
From the films we all love
Out: Bumbai, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Morometii
In: Dil Chahta Hai
Three for one's not a bad trade.

From the rest:
Glad to see The Boy Friend back in musicals

A little disappointed to see Spalovac mrtvol declassified as horror, but not surprised considering how Imdb genre tags go.

Super 8 and X-Men: First Class start their expected slow drops.

The shorts from the last update are gone.

Not yet off but dropping is The Girl with the Red Scarf in the drama list and Let the Bullets Fly in the Westerns.

And unsurprisingly the icheckmovies most favorite list continues to get more obscure and strange. We are down to just for people with Silver.

I'm liking your update posts. Keep it up. I'm afraid the 6 Turkish films are sticking around for a while despite not one being in any other list or having any kind of reviews.

I think a few of the Soviet comedies will go soon. A few are at 40+. There seems to be a few Indian films that go in and out of the list and don't really last long (apart from the main ones which are higher in the charts).

X-Men looks like going soon too. Super 8 has gone from the Sci-Fi list.

I've seen all the soviet comedies on the lists and actually enjoyed them, so this actually makes me a little sad. Not too sad though, unless they get replaced by Turkish comedies.

I'll probably end up checking out at least one of those Turkish films since I should base my dislike on something more than Hababam sinifi sinifta kaldi.

As for the Bollywood movies they do seem to go in and out but there's fewer of them now than there were several months ago it seems.

The Soviet comedies seem to come more down to taste. Personally, I absolutely hate them. They don't seem to get into any other ICM lists either (except the Russian ones). There's only about 5 or 6 of them left. 3 are at 40+ so I think they might go at some point. Ivan Vasilievich and The Diamond Arm should stay for the longest.

I was surprised to see non-Eastern Europeans liking the Soviet comedies but if any non-Turk sees Hababam Sinifi and likes it then I'll be astounded. The Turkish films are without a doubt the worst I've ever seen. (I don't include all Turkish films in this. I've barely seen any non-IMDB ones but I know there are some good ones. For some reason the IMDB Turkish voters seem to target the terrible comedies).

The trouble with this update is I have not seen Dil Chahta Hai, looking forward to it to finish again Comedy.

Next as I want to complete Mystery Romance and War before taking a short break from IMDB lists so I have Incendies, Gentelemen of Luck, Kibar Feyzo, Office Romance, Devils on the Doorstep, if they are still there by the time I see them, and Midnight in Paris when I can get to see it and I will need a break after these! :D
