While we wait for my spreadsheet to finish compiling.

The first runner up is:
#1002 Cría cuervos (1976) Carlos Saura

At 1002 it just misses the mark by a hair, dropping off the list from 975 last year.

It's ok. I've already worked out a schedule and the spreadsheet, when it finishes, will take care of all the formatting. So after that it'll just be copying and pasting code. Instead of one every ten minutes I'll be doing three every half hour or so.

For old time's sake I've made my avatar Rooney Mara doing a weird face during an interview (a different face than the one used last year though), which will last for the duration of this list.

Honestly, I just want Gummo to make this list. The reaction for it will be interesting.

Can you tell us how many films from the <400 list made the top 1000? Or do we have to wait until you finish posting the list to see the stats? 19 of them made last year's top 1000, so it'll be interesting to see how much that number increased.

Well, right now I couldn't tell you if I wanted, but yeah, that's something that'll wait until the stats, if not at the end then when the last one is posted.

I will say that I sorted the list by film type and was disappointed by the few number of shorts and docs on the list.

Peaceful, If it is not a big task, can you bold face to the rank and give a space between the rank/position change/title/director.. It all looks bit clustered in the first line.

Now seems like as good a time as any to predict the top 10:

01. The Godfather
02. Pulp Fiction
03. Vertigo
04. 2001: A Space Odyssey
05. Citizen Kane
06. 12 Angry Men
07. The Seven Samurai
08. Taxi Driver
09. Rear Window
10. The Apartment

Also expecting big jumps from Le trou and Cranes. Top 50 for either would be swell.

One of my least favorite films, and one of the lesser HHH films in my opinion.

What's going on with the 'list of voters'? :/

Quite a precipitous drop for Pandora's Box. I wonder if any film fell further than that. I was thinking The White Ribbon or Requiem for a Dream would have the biggest drop but 535 is pretty steep.

I'm doing these manually at the moment because the spreadsheet is still churning. It's the only info I don't have manual access to. Everything else I copied to a text file so I can do it manually, tedious though it is.

I have a feeling like the more the voters more the mainstream this list will become. Hope I'm proved wrong..!

I dunno, I think the mainstreamness is about the same. Some of the drop offs are lesser known films but some are mainstream films, and the same is true of the new entries. I don't have a nice comparison to look at at the moment, but there isn't a marked change in the list in that regard.

By far the best I've seen from him.
