"Abdullah ibn Rawahah:"

أقسمت يا نفس لتنزلنه *** لتنزلن أو لتكرهنه
إن أجلب الناس وشدوا الرنه *** ما لي أراك تكرهين الجنه
قد طال ما قد كنت مطمئنه *** هل أنت إلا نطفة في شنه
يا نفس إلا تقتلي تموتي *** هذا حمام الموت قد صليت
وما تمنيت فقد أعطيت *** إن تفعلي فعلهما هديت

translated :

I swear by Allah O my soul, you will surely descend (to the battlefield)
You will descend or you will be forced to descend
When the people cause stir and the screams intensify,
Why is it that I see you in dislike of Paradise?

What you have yearned for has indeed drawn long
Are you anything but a drop of fluid?
O my soul if you are not killed, then you will only die
This is the fate of death to which you have surrendered
And what you hoped for, you have been given
If you carry out the command, then you have been guided
