This Policy is at the top of Every Forum, so you can't miss it. But just in case, I might as well put a Topic up in case you can't see the Button at the top of every page. We mean every word of this Policy, and it is very important that you read and appreciate it. The Staff and I built this site so that anyone who suffers from Keratosis Pilaris could come and speak freely about it and any resource that has potential to help it, without someone constantly looking over your shoulder. There are other Forums for KP, but the Staff of those un-named places are overly invasive in the communities rights to speak freely, in my, and in many others humble opinions. I understand that some of the people on the Staff of these other Forums are good, well-meaning people, but some are power hungry, spiteful, and downright harmful to the progression the community makes in sharing helpful information. At these sites, Links are blocked, posts are edited to meet "Forum Approval", and in more then one occasion, PRIVATE Messages have actually been Spied on, edited and/or deleted. So much for "private", right? Here at KPCommunity we will NEVER spy in on your Private Messages, we will NEVER block appropriate Links that could potentially help someone's skin, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, we care about YOUR opinions and your input! This site is a COMMUNITY it the most meaningful sense of the word. We will always ask your opinions about aspects of the site, we will always make you feel like you are personally invested in the site itself. Please return the respect and freedom we allow you by adhering to some simple Rules/Regulations. Thank you, very much. First and most importantly, you must follow InVisionFree's Terms of Use. InVisionFree is a free site builder, without which this Forum would not be possible. Please read and respect InVisionFree's Terms of Use. http://invisionfree.com/index.php?p=tou Forum Rules/Regulations *Be respectful of others. It is OK to disagree, but you don't need to be rude. Use common sense and good judgment before you disagree with someone. We're all here to work towards the same goal- a cure for KP. *Do not provide false hope. Don't say something is a "miracle cure" unless you've given it at least 1 month's use. The skin "life cycle" is 26-30 days, and who know how long it takes the skin to "get used" to something new. Time and patience are key. *Go easy on the swearing. I'm not going to implement any word filters, because I want you to be able to express yourself as you would in a casual setting, but please refrain from being overly crude. *Be as descriptive as possible. You're not going to gross anyone out, we all have KP here and you're not going to say anything we haven't heard before, or haven't personally experienced. Go into the best detail possible when describing the symptoms you suffer from KP, or anything else for that matter. Its so much easier to answer a question, and understand what someone is saying when they are being very descriptive. There is no such thing as overly-descriptive. *Have fun, ask questions, and be helpful. We're all here to get help for our own problems, and that wouldn't be possible if you all weren't willing to answer any question anyone asks as best you can. Even if you don't know a full, 100% correct answer, add in your 2 cents. Your knowledge and opinions matter, a lot. *Share. Share your favorite links, share your opinions on the Forum in the Feedback Section, share you favorite tips, tricks, and anything else you can think of that helps your KP. Even if you think you might sound goofy for saying something, don't be shy. We're here to listen to each other, anything that helps you, might help someone else, and helping others makes you feel wonderful. *Search. Before you post a question, comment, or anything else, you might want to try out the "Search" Tool. We're not going to punish you for asking a question that's been asked a thousand times before, but it really helps cut down the spam on the Forum if you try Searching whenever possible. |
