Hey guys, I posted this on Smacktalks and another member told me that I needed to repost it here. To the modders who are working on importing the objects in the game. HovaThaGod32 and I have been discussing what it takes to import models, and that it doesn't work. But are in YOBJ. My prior working with the format in the past, in efforts to simply reverse engineer Yuke's procedure (I never produced mods, however), I noticed that the NORMALS ARE FLIPPED. This was consistent in HCTP and SYM. Most modders know about this, i think, as some people actually modded those games, whereas I never did. I preferred to take the route of just learning to do original work and trying to get my foot in the industry. This alone makes me a helpful ally. Have those trying to import custom models, and trying to design ways to do so, ect, check to see if the model has flipped normals. You need to be using a standard 3D editing package such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender. USE RENDER OUTPUT TO DO SOFTWARE RENDERING OF SCENE, AND INCLUDE LIGHTING. If the model does not show up or looks strange, the normals are reversed. This may be precisely why they are not working when you boot up the game and try to load the stages. There are possibly some issues with how the models are being exported into OBJ. When you're doing the export you also need to make sure you're selecting every model in the scene and exporting everything selected to guarantee that everything is included. Also included groups, instances, ect. I have questioned if the issues are related to format specific settings that people are simply not aware of when doing the model exports. I have absolutely no clue for certain because I have not checked into modding this game until now, but it has been on my education list for quite some time. I'm simply using deductive reason and common sense. I have the resources but I need people to get me going and informed. I can do fantastic modeling, but i have to learn how 2k16 works. What I do know is that I will do all i can to help you guys learn to make custom imported models work. Test this out, let me know what happens. Edited by TheSLX, Sep 16 2016, 06:18 PM.

Yeah making custom models/rigging models from other games would be epic.As far as PS2 YOBJ format goes, currently only vertex editing is supported.U-V map and bone edits are not supported. |

Past games are a lost cause and they aren't territory I wish to step. Focused exclusively on the current format and generation. I see why this would be interesting to you though if you guys are having issues. |
