If you are a person who looks at American cars, there are those that are badge-engineered. They are the same car, but one is more expensive and may have more amenities than the least expensive version. Badge-engineering is bad for American cars, because nobody will tell what is really different about it. Some examples... Ford Expedition/EL/Max~Lincoln Navigator/L Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban~GMC Yukon/Yukon XL~Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV Chrysler 300~Dodge Charger Chevrolet Express~GMC Savanna Lincoln MKT~2011 and up Ford Explorer Lincoln MKX~Ford Edge Chevrolet Cruze~Buick Verano Buick Envision~Chevrolet Equinox~GMC Terrain Buick LaCrosse~Chevrolet Impala (to be released around 2020)~Cadillac XTS Chevrolet Malibu~Buick Regal Chevrolet Corvette~Cadillac XLR (that one has been gone for years) Chevrolet Colorado~GMC Canyon (we had the Hummer H3 and Isuzu I-series) GMC Acadia~Cadillac XT5~Chevrolet Traverse~Buick Enclave There are those where import car companies work with American car makers. Examples Nissan Quest (the 1993-2002 models)~Mercury Villager Mitsubishi Raider~Dodge Dakota Mitsubishi Eclipse (the 1990-2005 models)~Eagle Talon~Plymouth Laser~Chrysler Sebring~Dodge Avenger Suzuki Sidekick~Chevrolet/Geo Tracker Chevrolet/Geo Prism~Toyota Corolla~Suzuki Swift Volkswagen Routan~Chrysler Town & Country~Dodge Grand Caravan Badge-engineering also killed Mercury, Eagle, Plymouth, and most of GM's brands. |
