The time has come for Rugrats fans to rejoice! :jump:  Amazon.com has made a deal with Nick to start releasing their older cartoons onto DVD and now it's the Rugrats turn. As yet, I haven't heard anything about their release date, but check out these DVD covers:

For now I think this is the only place where you can buy them but hey, it's still better than nothing! :hooray: :banana01:

EDIT: On my screen the pictures don't seem to be showing up. Is anyone else having problems viewing it?

I can't see them either, even when I try to view the image directly, although it has an image size. Maybe Amazon has something in place to block this.

Beware, those DVDs are $20 more expensive than standard DVD releases as it's the DVD/R format. Meaning they don't work on many DVD players.

That would really blow chucks if that's the case. :barfing:

I hope it would at least work on my laptop's DVD player. I'd be too embarrassed to watch that stuff in my living room where all my roomates can see me. :D

Yeah, the pictures aren't showing up for me, either.

But the news is definitely great. Maybe someday AGU will get DVD releases, too (all the episodes released).

Try uploading them on Imageshack.

Either way, this is pretty good news. Especially for me, since I have a bit of a collection going here.

By that you mean your artwork right? Or is it Rugrats episodes?

Fern, if your asking any special features like bloopers or behind scenes ect.. From what I heard and read no it looks like its just a plain old DVD with just the episodes on them, but at least we have that so far. ;)

If Amazon is selling these 2 first season well, hopefully Nick will pick up on this and see whats going on, and then release an actual retail release of Rugrats, in turn releasing all the episdoes/box sets of the complete show :)

And P.S. I see Amazon are doing this same deal with Nick on other shows as well..which are Hey Arnold, Doug, and a few others

(Is All Grown Up in the near Furture in this deal with Amazon as well?!?!?!...I would rather have something like this than nothing at all, well besides those volumes they have.)

Yeah That's what I figured. Maybe nick will make the really season sets if the sales at Amazon goes well.

I'm just getting a little puzzled about this right now because these releases were made months ago and no season 3 has yet been shown to be available or coming soon. I just hope this isn't a case of them not bothering to make more since not very many people know about it and/or not interested.
