2010 Midterm elections

This is a thread I started up mainly for the purpose of reminding people about the election that takes place on Tuesday, November 2nd for many senators and house leaders. While I have pretty strong opinions about it all and I imagine some also have strong opinions too, I'm not looking to start another nasty political debate with people and am more just looking to encourage people to do the right thing. It is a privilege and responsibility to vote on election day because millions of brave soldiers have given their lives so that we would have these rights preserved, not to mention that high voter turnout indicates that America has a pulse!! :P

To sum it all up, if you're eligible to vote, then get your @$$ out there and do so! :)

Nothing to it, Gavin. :)

I went out and voted - very easy and seamless process. It was a new polling location for me, since I moved to a new area and the people were very nice and helpful.

I make sure to vote during the mid-term and presidential elections at least.

Well like it or not, the republicans made huge gains in the house of representatives to retake the majority and weakened the Democratic party's power in the senate. :o Not even I was expecting it to be that huge of a shift.

Let it be clear though that this is not a case of the country falling in love with the R's again, but rather just a general unhappiness with what our elected leaders have done the last few years. They haven't forgotten about the turbulence of the Bush years and if they don't get it right this time and do the things they said they would do, the republican party may very well never have any real power in this country ever again. :bricks:
