Klay, I want to ask you how girly this sounds:

"...are trying to tell new Fluttershy how to live her life when they are throwing their own lives away on pointless pursuits that nopony else gives a flying feather about!!"

Bahaha, I loved assertive Fluttershy. Although when she made Pinkie and Rarity cry - now that was a sad moment. Why does it always seem that when characters are, well out of character, it makes for the most epic of episodes. :P All I can say is that "Putting Your Hoof Down" was once again another stellar episode. Season two has really been enjoyable to watch!

And up next today, "It's About Time," the time traveling episode featuring Twilight. Are we going to see crazy Twilight once again? :D

This episode was a step down - the plot was basic, and they dumbed it down a bit for the kids by repeating the double Twilight scene in full exactly the same again. Positives though were Spike getting good screentime for the first time in 10 eps, Pinkie being a good foil, and some direct Greek mythology sneaking in pony hell into canon.

Not bad at all, but there's very high expectations now with FiM, and this was probably the worst episode since Hearth's Warming Eve.

I agree, wholeheartedly. I thought the idea of Twilight going time traveling would end up providing for another epic episode. But all I can muster is a "meh" for a reaction. Lately when we've had these string of great episodes, I've been able to re-watch episodes over and over again. But with "It's About Time," I've only watched it three times. It just does not draw me in like the other episodes have. I concur that it's on the same level as Hearth's Warming Eve, Baby Cakes, and Family Appreciation Day - episodes in which I don't find myself going back to watch all that often.

Pinkie is on a hot streak herself, getting plenty of air time. I wonder if that streak continues heading into next week?

And what makes me sad most of all, is that season 2 is almost over. :(

After two average episodes, we are finally back into the swing of things with "Hurricane Fluttershy". I've only watched it one so far, but I think this is one I'll be watching over and over again. I truly enjoy the Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash episodes. And in this episode, Rainbow displayed her loyalty element to a 'T'. After some of her previous episodes in season 2, I think a lot of the fanbase was expecting Rainbow Dash to lose her cool with Fluttershy and have nothing to do with her. But that did not happen in this one. I mean sure, she was disappointed in Fluttershy, but she never gave up hope that Fluttershy would in some way help the cause in getting the water up to Cloudsdale. And she was supportive when Fluttershy needed it. Again as there always is in any MLP episode, there's just so much to critique in an episode, and a person is going to miss a lot of the details in only just one viewing. But there was so much Derpy in this one it was fantastic! I love the rabbit with a Derpy mask during the training montage. :D The old fashioned film was a nice touch and it was great seeing all kinds of new Pegusi ponies with names! And the big, burly 'roid-Pony made me laugh. So yep, another high quality pony episode. Thoroughly enjoyable.

That particular statement doesn't sound that girly but it's being said by really girly looking cartoon characters. Besides, don't you still have to listen to the ultra-girly theme song each episode? That right there was my tipping point and made me feel like I was going to have a panic attack if I watched anymore, especially if someone else saw me! :P

Speaking of the themesong, I can at least say I've seen one thing from MLP that I thought was kinda funny!

Many hardcore fans do dislike the theme song still and ignore/mute it, but I've come to like it

Ooh, the big season two finale episode is this Saturday! From early indications, it sounds like it'll be an epic one-hour episode, too.

I must admit, I am a bit burned out on ponies - so the upcoming break between seasons two and three will be welcomed. I'll be ready for season three when it comes around by then.

Well, that was a solid finale.

Hurricane Fluttershy was still the best thing to come out of this season, but hey, it's all good.

I agree. It was very well done. New villain, a fairy-tale ending - truly a nice way to cap off the season. It sounded like the villain was voiced by the same actor who voiced Trixie. I noticed a few responses from people out there that said this was an episode that catered to the fans, but I didn't sense that at all. I thought it was a nice, well rounded episode that addressed everyone, from the young people to the Bronies. A little bit sad to see the season end, yet it'll prove to be a nice break. We've got plenty to keep us going until new episodes come out at the end of the year. :)

EDIT: Upon a second watching, I've got to say that the finale was pretty friggin' awesome. I don't think I really had as much of an appreciation for it like I did the second time through. In fact, I'd say it was an epic finale. Lots of great songs, great villainous moments, plenty of action and suspense, and yes, plenty of fanservice in there, too. ;)

I was browsing through some stuff on Youtube just now and I found this video. Do either of you watch the Anime show "Bleach"? This MLP parody entitled "Peach" was formatted to be just like the 1st Bleach opening and when I saw this video, it made me think of you guys.

Speaking of season 3, the Hub has made announcements that new episodes will air in November. They have not released a specific date, but just that season 3 will start in November. So, new MLP is not all that far off now.
