Frequently asked questions 1. Q: What is this site all about? A: This is a Harry Potter Related site. If there is a Durmstrang(possibly in Russia or in Scandinavia), Beauxbaton(France), and Salem (US), Mahootsukai Academy is a school for witch and wizards located in Japan. 2. Q: So the setting of this RPG board is in Japan, does that mean I cannot make a non-Japanese character? A: I am not closing my doors for non-Japanese Characters, but you should consider this questions: What is your character doing in Japan? Why did he came all the way to the place just to study or do a job? It should be connected to your character's plot. I don't like the reason that, "just because he/she felt he wanted to do it out of nothing." No. You should have a specific and detailed reason about it which will have a big impact on your character's plot. 3. Q: My registration was deleted. What happened? A: Read the First rule on the Rules topic and you will know the answer to your question. 4.Q: Why can't I view the whole site? A: If you are a guest or unsorted member, the rest of the site is hidden from you. I know it is not fair, but it will not fair to my other members as well if I let it be viewed by you. Character Profiles of Approved members, the RP topics, the classes, etc. is only visible to sorted members. Why? Because there was one situation where someone stole a character description of one of our members (copy paste thingy >_< ). To avoid such abuse, I decided to show the rest of the site including the Character Profile to those sorted members only. If you want to see the whole thing, then go register. Our Sorting quiz and application form is not that hard to do. Other sites have harder apps and quiz than this one, so I guess it will not be a pain to finish it if you are really interested with the site. 5. Q: I want to make a student character, but I want him to be beyond first year. Can I do that? A: No, creating students beyond first year in not allowed. Every student should start as a first year. I am so sorry but the only exception for this is if you study on a school affiliate of IEC of the Ministry of Magic (our major Affiliate site) and then you show us the evidences that you earned the following quills in that school that moved you up to the year you are on. We have a rule here that you should have three quills to advance a year. So if you have 10 quills from that school, you will be 4th Year here. 6. Q: Can I make a creature character? A: Sorry, but creature characters are only allowed if they are supporting characters or plot characters. That is it. No exceptions. I don't want the site to be populated by creatures especially dangerous ones. This is not a killing field for them. You should have a detailed plot when creating one. Period. 7. Q: Is my character allowed to have those special abilities? A: Yes, you can BUT you must sign up on the Magical abilities List and wait for it to be approved by the Board Administrators before you do place it on your Character profile. There is a list on that topic as well which states what kind of special magical abilities and what kind of creature/beings are allowed in the site. In claiming special magical abilities like animagi, legilimens, occlumens, you should be 5th year and above (except for Metamorphmagus). You should also have a valid reason for acquiring such ability. We are going to approve it if it is valid. But then, it doesn't mean your character should have one. This abilities are rare and I don't want everyone in this site having special magical abilities. As for creatures or Beings (Vampires, Veela, Giant, etc - full or part), this will be under our approval as well before you place it on your character profile plot. You should have a detail reason why your character is born like that. This situations are rare as well, so you should come up with a detailed plot for your character being born to be part creature, or full creature. 8. Q: Can I make an adult or non-student character? A: Yes. But, your adult character should be 18 years old and above. 9. Q:All first year students are 11 years old. Why? A:All first year characters will be 11 years old, no exemptions. Remember that this is a Harry Potter-related site. Each year, the Admission Directress sends letters to eligible witches and wizards who will be eleven years old. We require students characters to be at the age of eleven once they start studying here. That just means you must put 11 years old at the age of your student account. When you move up a year, that is when you change your age. 10. Q:How do I take classes? A: Classes will be open every term. Each class you finish gives you a quill. Earning 3 quills gives you a chance to move up a year. Watch out for announcement once classes starts to open for enrollment. 11. Q:What if I earn 10 quills in one term? A:Quills of each student are recorded on their Student Records. You can only move a maximum of 2 years. That means, even if a first year character collected 10 quills in one term, he can only move up to 3rd year.
