i find it oh so hilarious how everyone can blabber on about god being just a spirit, not human or relative to lowly humans at all, yet everyone can call god "he"

fuckin a.

"he" since Jesus was male...

"he" since women had no status when male dominated religions were squishing pagan religions and started the major mass monotheistic religions.
Zim: "WE'RE DOOMED! DOOMED!"
Gir: "YAY!"
Zim: "No Gir, that's a bad thing"
~pause~
Gir: "YAY!"

Uh, oh! Here comes church-boy AuhsojSivart.

There is no such thing as race. This was part of a study called "Race - The Power of an Illusion" by Larry Adelman. http://www.pbs.org/race/000_About/002_04-b...round-01-02.htm

Now that that's out of the way, we can continue. (by the way, I don't think we've been around for 70,000 years, but we are all descended from Northeastern Africa, or the Middle East. Otherwise, I agree with their findings.)

God does not have to have a race, because race is just a false idea. Saying that race exists is the same thing as saying that a Siamese and a Tabby are different 'races' of cat. No! They're just different breeds. They look different, but they're both still cats on the genetic level.

God the Father, the first part of the Trinity, does not have a 'race'. Jesus, God in the form of man and the second part of the Trinity, was what we would call a Jew, but genetically could have been closer to a black, Asian, or Native American than other Jews. The Holy Spirit, the third part of the Trinity, has no physical form, but it did appear looking like a dove once.

Now I'm probably starting an argument about the Trinity being more than one God. Do any of the men here have kids? That makes you a father, but, you're still a Son and probably a brother all at the same time. Are you more than one person?

To those (pianogirl) who are whining about patriarchal, monotheistic religions squashing the pagan religions, why don't you start worshipping the pagan gods? If you are mad that they aren't practiced, then maybe you should start practicing them. If you don't believe what they have to say, then why would you want them to be flourishing?

OK, I might as well stop and give everyone a chance to respond. If I made you mad, I don't really see how (unless you actually do worship pagan gods). If you really, really want God to have a race, I'm sure He won't mind too much. But, please, don't use the race that you create for Him as an excuse to be a racist, because race doesn't really exist.

Race=human word for breed?

Race is used in too much of a derogatory way than to just say that it's the human word for breed.

Why should we have to put a 'race' on a work application?

There was another study, which I cannot find but my professor brought up the other day in class. In it, men with names like "Jamal" or "Donnell" or whatever American black names there are with HIGHER credentials put in applications for jobs at the same places as men with white names like "Scott" or "David" with much LOWER credentials. 75% of the time, the white men got call backs from the employer.

Tell me that if my little brother (who's going to be 4 soon) to bring in a cat for show-and-tell at preschool, the teacher would ask to make sure it was a Siamese, because Tabby cats just aren't exactly what she's looking for.

On an application it is definatley useless, but is for statistics/affirmative action type things.
