Get one of those EEEs ("Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play") laptops that's trendy on the market right now. The concept of them is simple, cheap, but yet powerful. Examples: ASUS Eee PC http://eeepc.asus.com/global/product.htm VIA OpenBook http://www.viaopenbook.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=2 HP 2133 Mini-Note http://h40059.www4.hp.com/hp2133/ Dell is also coming out with a laptop called "Mini Inspiron". Last: $100-laptop http://laptop.org/laptop/ Edited by Genetic God, Jun 2 2008, 06:04 PM.

Hey Genetic God, I made a video in Premiere and need to upload it to Youtube for class. The video came out to be over 3 gigs (under 20 minutes). What program should I use to compress it? I managed to cut it down to 3 hundred and something megabytes but that is not quite enough. I think any lower and I'll have to sacrifice the resolution. Edited by EVILyangkuang, Jun 5 2008, 05:41 AM.

What Adobe Premiere are you using? Is it Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Premiere Elements? Adobe Premiere Elements is like a LIGHT version. It's made for people with no experience and is supposed to be easy to use. Just like Adobe Photoshop Elements. So, you can either use Use Adobe Premiere Elements (version 4.0 is the latest) or Windows Movie Maker. Believe it or not, Windows Movie Maker is pretty good for these kinda simple tasks. Just import your large AVI/MPEG into Windows Movie Maker or Premiere Elements, and export it as WMA or FLASH-file. Premiere Elements has a lot of export functions, even one for YouTube. So check it out. Their website has some videos that you can watch. http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/ Hope this helps. |

If you managed to cut down to 300 MB, you can use YouTube to upload. They have a YouTube-uploader tool that lets you upload files up to 1 GB or 10 minutes. Check this out first! http://youtube.com/multifile_installer Edited by Genetic God, Jun 5 2008, 05:51 AM.

I'm using Premiere Pro. I'm trying that Youtube Uploader now. Will it automatically cut my video after the 10 minute mark? Ah, the status is at 2 percent now. Hope it uploads all the way and I'll have my first Youtube vid! Thanks GG. Edited by EVILyangkuang, Jun 5 2008, 06:04 AM.

It can exceed 10 minutes as long as your file is under 1 GB. |

Damn it. The result was "fatal error". I'm trying the single video upload method now. Edited by EVILyangkuang, Jun 5 2008, 08:42 PM.

Were you uploading multiple files? I've only tested out single files. |

No, I was uploading just that one. I was timed out using the normal method, my IE browser was cut. I'm trying the multiple method with IE now (I used Firefox before). |

OMG! Just found out now you have to assign your channel to "director" to bypass the 10 minute cap on videos. Arrggh! This better work. The presentation is tomorrow. |

Fuck! I just found out that doesn't work either. Youtube silently took away that feature for Directors. Only accounts registered prior to 2006 can go over the 10 minute limit. Shit. I'll have to download some kind of video trimmer. Edited by EVILyangkuang, Jun 6 2008, 04:42 AM.
