What cool kitchen appliances have you come across? Do you have any? In terms of normal coolness, I love my popcorn popper. Nothing special about it, aside from the fact that it makes fantastic popcorn. I've come across a few really spiffy kitchen things that have made me jealous, though: ![]() Toastmaster Egg Head Egg Cooker http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...429620112941550 ![]() Voodoo Knife Display http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=fire...roduct&pid=1109 ![]() ![]() Egg Cuber http://www.notcot.com/archives/2006/10/egg_cuber.html Egg Cuber is freaking awesome. C'mon, square eggs for breakfast? Girlfriend will love ya! |

 We bought the sleek new stainless steel electric ice cream maker from Cusinart. I made my husband keep the box, however, until we were sure it was worth it since it was 50 bucks at the wholesale club. Well, it was easy to understand and a nice recipe book came with it. We tried the strawberrry ice cream. You have to put the inside container in your freezer... no biggie, we plan on making ice cream alot so we will just keep it there. We made the recipe, although it was a bit sweet, all with no fat milk. The flavor was great, but the consistency was more like an italian ice... not bad but we wasn't impressed. My hubby said, TAKE IT BACK NO WAY... we tried it again... but this time, we still wanted to keep it sort of low fat, so we used no fat milk where called for whole and we did keep the heavy/whipping cream part. We use organic sugar all the time and it is naturally sweeter so since we had the sweetened cream, we cut the recipe for sugar by one third... and made Oreo cookie ice cream to die for!!!! YUM! Really, the ice cream is like soft serve, and the machine says to run it for 25 minutes, but we did for 30. Then, if you aren't serving it right away, put it in a plastic storage tub like rubbermaid, make sure the air is out and store it in the freezer... Awesome. Now, we gotta tell you, the package promotes, "Make ice cream in 25 minutes"... but, you have to mix the ingredients and you have to make sure the internal cannister is frozen solid in your freezer... but it does what is says. We just make the stuff and immediatly wash and put the cannister back in my freezer. Ready for the next time. We have surprised our friends and made awesome frozen margaritas. We are definitely keeping it. It also looks awesome on our counter with the other stainless appliances and our refrig/stove and oven are all stainless too, so it just adds to the overall feeling. We would suggest it and recommend this product. The only thing we found they could improve was the sound... it is a bit loud, like a blender, so Cusinart, if you are listening... make the ice cream maker a little quieter... Thanks! |
