I'm thinking about it.
But it's going to cost me like $4900...

I was at two laser centers today and showed them my previous eye strengths. Both said that my eyes were ok because the strengths were in the stability zone and that they could perform laser treatment.

Open poll guys, answer it honestly and leave a comment on why/why not.

Is it primarily for aesthetic purposes?

I'm just going to do it if they accept me on the realityshow that I applied because it will give me an advantage. If they turn me down, I'm going to revaluate.
Other than that, it's primary for getting rid of my glasses and looking good.

Anyways, I've been doing some research about different laser type methods. I even went to some eye cliniques to check out the information I found on the net. The latest laser technology is called FemtoSecond and IntraLase. Both are the same type of laser, but under different names, hence different companies.

What's good about it is the higher precision. And best of all, the eye surgeon no longer has to use a microknife to cut layers of your eye! It's all now based on laser. Another good thing is the rapid healing time and almost no irritation symptoms.

It has been tested on millions with great resultats as well. It also mentioned something about being the only method accepted by NASA when they do laser eyesurgery on their astronauts? Not that it matters, because NASA isn't exactly known for laser surgery...

The downside about it?
The cost. About $8553

But it's absolutely worth it. It's your eyes we're talking about. Better to spend some extra money to be safe than sorry.

I'll keep you guys updated regarding my eyes.

Well, I don't really know what to say since we can't really gauge just how bad your eyesight is and if it's really worth the hassle.
How about contacts? I hear there are some where you can leave in for months, or daily disposables.

I would have gone with contacts, but in my situation, I can't.
(I once tried contacts; my eyes got dry fast and it was hurting my eyes a bit. But it could be that I chose a wrong brand)

Anyways, got some interesting links about eye training:

Some people say it really works.
Comments?

Interesting. I don't know much about eye training but I don't believe it is a realistic way (if it even works at all) to effectively remedy your eyesight problem indefinitely, especially in cases with high prescription as yours. But hey, what do I know?

Bullshit or not, I'm going to try it for a couple of weeks and see if there has been any improvements.
Besides, it's just a few minutes a day.

This thread has no use for me any longer since I said no to the TV show.
(I cancelled the eye surgery hours before I was going to do it)

Who knows, maybe I will bump it next year :)
I sure hope the prices will drop a bit by then -_-
