A lot of science fiction and horror fans huh. Animal farm sure was a treat to read. Some of the first books I ever got into were Lovecraft's "At the mountains of madness" and "The call of Cthulhu. The horror and science fiction phase gave way to my love of the Beat generation and Gonzo journalism. The book that made me appreciate reading was "On the road" closely followed by "The Electric Kool aid acid test". The biggest bitch of a book I've ever had the pleasure of reading was "Moby Dick". The shortest novel that packs the biggest punch would have to be "The old man and the sea" What a freaking knockout of a book! If any of you are looking for sometihng quirky to read, checkout Howard Waldrop. It might just light your fire, science fiction unlike anything you've read before. =D |
