Engine still has stock internals. Head gasket isn't stock though. By all accounts the engine should've gone pop already, that said there's still quite a few S2 engine's taking the same abuse as mine.

The tune is also a conservative tune. So it's not being pushed too hard, despite pushing 18psi.

Around Oran I kept it on low boost (14psi), it was a hot day and being such a short track I didn't really notice a lack of power limiting me. But at Eastern Creek I was naughty. I actually found out what an extra 4psi really does on the main straight.

Half way down the straight I was pretty much topped out at 205km/h (on the PFC controller), wasn't gaining very fast, foot was flat, was already in fifth, looked down and clicked the highboost setting on the profecB. The car shot up to 220km/h before hitting the 100m marker.

So I kept it at 18psi for the last session, and paid the penalty for it. After this track day I dropped the car off at my mechanic and got a hefty service bill in the thousands of dollars. I managed to blow out all the gaskets on the exhaust side, break off an exhaust manifold stud, and blow out the gaskets on the intake side too.

The power curve initially got smoother with the power FC. But then changed totally with the GT30r turbo.

Everyday driving see's me driving off boost now. It doesn't start producing boost still about 3000rpm, but then hits full boost at 4,500rpm. There's a significant kick in the back between 3000rpm and 4500rpm now. There's still enough power up to 3000rpm though, just not as much as with the stock turbo + power FC. (above there's a crap load more)

That little glitch in the curve between 5000 and 6000rpm is due to the s2 engine changing cam profile at that point. It's not noticeable on the road.

The R8 is nice, but at that price I'd rather a Porsche.

awww this convo is bad. giving me ideas my bank cant support :p lol. but once again what youve done is very impressive. what front bar is that btw ??

And i wouldnt complain about little power glitches if i were you. im struggling with a really big one that ive had since i got the car :(. started small but has gotten bigger as ive added a couple bits and pieces. really shits me too cause i know it shouldnt be that way. maybe you have an idea? my mech reckons maybe it could be my sorta restrictive muffler playing with pressures affecting the ecu cause as you can see below the afr unsettles at the same time as the power dip. but yer anyways a piccy of my car too :). hate the wheels but they make do for now. horrible offset and chrome

Dyno Sheet in current form - front mount - 3" custom s/s venturi split front dump, to front pipe and fujitsubo cat back, splitfire coilpacks.
Have other bits like tomei short shifter, heavy duty clutch and buddyclub racing spec damper coilovers etc. other than that stock as a rock including fuel system etc

very tidy mate. im not a big fan of Skylines, but i really dig the fact it looks stock, and not 'over the top' body bits & wheels etc.

actually..... Wil's Skyline is rather simular (except for the carbon bonnet & boot), which i also like.

you guys might not care, but ive got the bug to get another Fairlane.... but this one will be a 5 Litre :D theres a couple which i might check out which are Tickford tuned

Stock ecu + old fuel pump, or even boost controller (?? what are you using?) is possibly causing that.

Buy a power fc and get that tuned. That midrange will clean right up I guarantee it. Also, the car will feel so much better to drive. There was a night and day difference from when I went from the stock ecu to pfc.

Ooh Scotty, petrol guzzler. Need some growley action?

will be checking out this car on the weekend..... not sure where ill get money to buy it though LOL

Wil, from what you tell me, it probably wont guzzle much more than your car LOL and if what im planning goes through (moving closer to the city), i wont be driving to work at all after christmas - so fuel economy wont be an issue

compared to my falcon (1997 model with 240000) this is pretty good. i wont be driving it too much, so the k's wont quickly rise on me.

if you keep the car serviced, you will get heaps more kilometres from it.

im gonna check it out on saturday :)

yer stock ecu, stock fuel pump, stock fuel injectors. no aftermarket boost controller just the standard solenoid.

was lookin at a pfc just lookin for the cash atm lol. the second is so much harder to find.

and i have an interest in all cars scotty :) from the biggest of big to the smallest of small. if they perform my interest is right there. tickford is wicked :). good luck with the purchase :D

Oooh, stock solenoid!

It runs 4psi, then switches to 7psi (if I remember correctly). There's a modification that you can do to the stock solenoid on the sau forums. I did the mod when I found out about it. That explains the jump.

Whoops forgot to answer the front bar question. It came with the car from Japan. It's a replica GTR bar.
