I had one. It was cheap shit with a sparking electrical socket, and the photo's around the place showing 360's with electrical burns all over the back of them proves I'm not alone.

They do nothing other than blast the hot air out the back of the 360 harder than normal, and let people sleep easier at night thinking they're helping. I call it making a profit off fear, but if it helps you feel more at ease...

I haven't had RROD since I sent mine off to get fixed a year ago either. No Intercooler needed.

well im on the other side of that argument - havent had RROD since using the cooler. i havent heard bad things about them... only from Hiss & Necris (who i dont think have used them?) , but i havent gone out of my way to look from bad press, because i am so happy with it

mines the one from JB (i cant remember the brand)
I may have told this story before ages ago, but when my first console started getting the RROD(2 to 3 times a week if some remember that far back), i was considering a intercooler, and when talking to a few mates about it one pulled out their old consoles, and it had the entire rear fan area, the case was completely melted, aswell as electrical burns over the back aswell and the console suffered from console constant RROD, haven't looked at one since. But as scotty has said each to their own, but i've heard/seen mostly bad things about them.

If that happens MS void the warranty on your xbox (cause it damages the plug end in the 360). That said, the Nyko brand of intercoolers redesigned theirs to make sure stuff like the above wouldn't happen. If you want one, be careful which one you buy. You could end up with a broken and out of warranty 360.

In my opinion, if a product can't run as is out of the box - all day every day - then it's not worth getting. Microshit shouldn't use cheap parts, but it's all about profit i guess. Like with everything else.
