INITIAL PS3 IMPRESSIONS:

it's pretty ordinary in comparison to the 360 (not a flamewar... my opinion). I bought it for the few good games which aren't multiplatform (gamers shouldnt limit themselves to one console if they can afford to do so - miss out on some good games).

Little Big Planet is pretty cool, although im stuck on the first Africa level :( a friend of mine will be lending me some games next week (including MGS4 & GT Prologue).

I tried the demo for Uncharted & couldnt really get into it, but the Ratchet & Clank demo was fun - i might get that one (although no trophy support as yet!).

I'm not liking the controller - it is too light & my fingers slip off the L2 & R2 buttons

I would buy alot more PSN games if THEY HAD DEMO'S!

Not to completely ragg on my new purchase, the PS3 does do some things really well: 1) REAL prices on the PSN Store.... 2) Life with Playstation is very cool - i like checking out the weather in cities such as Vancouver. Also the Folding @ Home thing is cool to have in the background, 3) FREE customisation of the 'dashboard' is a good idea, 4) the machine is very quiet - you could leave it on all day & not know it

i'm not disappointed with the PS3, it is as i expected it would be: A good compliment to my 360
Don't forget you can upgrade your hard drive to alot larger storage by yourself for a reasonable price.

Yep, it's nice and quiet, but the thing uses more electricity than a fridge. Important if you're watching your bills.

I never tried the Uncharted demo. Just the full game. To me it feels like a King's Quest in 3 dimensions, or a Tomb Raider with a better story and better fighting controls.

The ability to upgrade the HD yourself rocks too.

Scotty, have you tried Pixel Junk?
