If the quality seems a bit iffy on this trailer, you'll have to forgive me, but you wouldn't believe where I've pulled this one from. It actually looks pretty damn good from what I expected. Anyway, Sonic R is a very rare occurrence of Sonic himself appearing on the Saturn. With people clamoring for a true Sonic sequel, Sonic 3D and Sonic R were all we got. Also, bother were developed by Traveller's Tales under the guidance of Yuji Naka. Yep, them guys who now make all them Lego games made this. The greatest salt in the wound is that this game was released right near the death of the Saturn. In fact, only possibly a couple of hundred copies made it out here in Australia though I've never seen or heard of anyone actually having one. Luckily, you can now play it on the Sonic Gems collection for the PS2. Sonic R is a racing game involving the not so huge amount of characters in the Sonic Games at the time. You had Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Robotnix and Amy, and the unlockable characters where all robot versions of each. Naturally, Sonic has been slowed down a far whack or there's be no game, but that doesn't mean he doesn't still run like the clappers. The game controls somewhere between a platformer and a racer. It definitely takes some adjusting at first, and is also very touchy to sterr, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be ripping around the tracks having a hell of alot of fun. Probably it's only real downfall is that it's all over so quickly. You can honestly completely knock this one over in a few hours, but it's a case of that typical Sega replayability that keeps you coming back to this one. This one would have received alot more love if people were so annoyed at the time about being denied a true Sonic game yet again. |

I love this game for the crazy scenery and wacky music, but I think it would be a lot more fun if I didn't keep glitching out and getting stuck in the walls and floor in every stage... XD Can you feel the sunshine? Does it brighten up your day? *hums* |

You have Daytona??? I'll have to hunt that down! I have the Sonic Soundtrack CD that comes with the 10th Anniversery Collectors Edition of Sonic Adventure 2 on my iPod. It's like a Sonic Best Of. |
