Word has hit the net that Microsoft, by way of J Allard, the mastermind behind Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, has filed for patent protection for a “Magic Wand.” Say what?

From the patent protection application:

“The (wand’s) architecture can utilize one or more sensor from a collection of sensors to determine an orientation or gesture in connection with the wand, and can further issue an instruction to update a state of an environmental component based upon the orientation.”

This is nothing more than a fancy way of saying that the patent is for Microsoft’s very own Wiimote like device. If this is indeed the point I am sure we will all here more about it next month at E3. As always stay tuned to EBA for updates.
