Anyone else getting this. Summary - new Bioware epic, PC is lead platform (to the extent that the PC version has been ready since earlier this year but they've held off while they get the 360/PS3 versions ready), back to their fantasy RPG roots, USP is multiple choice. Oh, should explain multiple choice - think Mass Effect, but done properly. I have been hanging for a good role playing game, and gave in to temptation to get the Steam pre-order (exclusive rings!!!) I know there are a few Mass Effect and RPG fans around here, so I hope you are on board with this game. Could be the best RPG since Torment. Oh, btw - if anyone posts "WTF is Torment" I will cry. But if you seriously dont know about Planescape Torment is, then I'm happy to educate... RIP Black Isle. EDIT - sorry, should have also mentioned it's the spiritual succesor to Baldurs Gate. If that makes more sense than the Torment reference, I forgive you. If not - I cried a bit more. Oh, and the character creator is out for PC already - a sort of demo. Check Steam. I'll forgive you Necris. Planescape:Torment is a much hyped game from Black Isle Studios, widely regarded as the best from the D&D series that included Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights. It is deservedly worth the Hype, being one of the best RPG's of all time. I've been trying to come up with a brief synopsis of what makes it so special. I can't. You'll have to check the internet.... it rocked on so many levels, I can't decide where to begin. Sadly, I never completed it for external reasons (relationship break up, ex took the PC, blah blah), but I still have the disks and rate it as one of the best games I have ever played, and easily the best RPG/adventure game I have ever played. Black Isle where responsible for Falluout, and in their incarnation as Obsidian games created Star Wars:KOTOR 2. They have a longstanding association with Bioware, as you may guess. |

HOLY FUCK. Sorry for another DP tonight.... but just found that Black Isle/Obsidian are making a sequel to Fallout 3. my brain just exploded. Baldurs Gate was an awesome game, I still have a copy somewhere that my uncle put me onto, shame it wasn't coop. The first RPG I ever played was Dark Sun on PC years back when I visited the US. My uncle had it on his PC I was addicted from then on. |

Yeah seems interesting, though seems a little like the WoW armory in a certain way but more detailed tracking for quests etc. However isnt Dragon Age a single play MMO? I read a comment that someone said saying it was, so it seemed a pointless addition. |

Yeah checked steam says its a Singleplayer RPG game. So effectively this mmo stat tracking feature they're raving on about is pointless since most people will level up with roughly the same gear when following the story. Such a waste of an RPG, it should be online capable with friends like Sacred or Borderlands etc, at least then it would be more fun than plodding around on your own. Still. I may check it out and get it. |

Just pre-ordered the CE from EB today and it looks like it will be released a day or two early. Can't wait! I'm pretty sure it is a single player game and Bioware are just doing some social networking thing. |

It is available from EB now but they aren't getting CE until tomorrow  The guy said I could come in and get the game and play it and then return it tomorrow when I pick up my CE but I can't be bothered.
